Not making the horsepower it should? (shortened) I bought the car a few months ago from a friend. He dyno'd the car on the motor and on a 75 shot. His best was 307 on the motor and 405 on the 75 shot (42/26 n2o/fuel jets). I ran the car yesterday on the same dyno with the 150 shot (63/30-34 n2o/fuel jets) and couldn't break 400. It ran high 3's, with a best of 396. When I ran the 75 shot it made 357 compared to his 405. However, when I ran it on the motor it made 310. Now I know NOS recommends a 38 jet for use with the 63 jet for a 150 shot, so I thought it was interesting that I had to go down to a 30 jet to get it to run 11:8. The car runs right at 12.8-12.9:1 on the motor.
These are the problems I can think of:
-Bottle Orientation. He said he had it facing the opposite direction, which is critical according to NOS.
-Bad solenoid. I was reading through the NOS instructions and it said letting the pressure get over 1100 can damage the seal in the solenoid and cause it to flow less. This has happened a few times when I've left the bottle warmer on for too long.
Any other ideas or suggestions?

yea, plenty of n2o in the bottle, just filled it, and I made sure the pressure was between 900 and 1000 for all of the runs. only problem I can think of with the bottle is the orientation and the pickup tube not grabbing any liquid nitrous

i just inspected the solenoid and it looked ok. i've never seen a good or bad seal before, but the seal didn't look damaged in any way and it didn't seem swollen like described in the instructions. i might pickup a cheap rebuild kit for it anyways.
So I've spun the bottle around, inspected the solenoid. could the transmission be slipping? I did some datalogging with HP tuners and after around 5300 or so the speed that I logged was very inconsistent, I could see it jumping around...

line is running through the car and through the firewall. I'll inspect the line tomorrow to make sure nothing happened that might have kinked one. when you bend a -6an stainless line so that it's going 180 degrees with say a 1" radius bend would that hurt it? as long as it's not actually kinked it should be fine right?

definitely. I think i might just need to get the car on another dyno too, because using the 75 shot I was able to stay at least dead even with my friend's h/c/i 2004 pontiac gto with a good amount of weight reduction, with my girlfriend in the car and a full tank of gas. he should be making at least 400 to the wheels. more to come...

well, i got the car running somewhat better. I pickup around 9mpg on the 150 shot, going from around 106 to 115. i was hoping for more, because I pickup 7mph on the 75 shot. i think there is still a problem in that my setup is different from most. i'm not using the standard plate design, I have a nozzle placed in the bellows. the restriction i think i might be getting into is the nossle looks like it faces right at the side of the throttlebody, and because it only goes so deep i can't really get a straight shot into the motor.
