Default Anyone running E85 in main tank and C16 race fuel in decicated tank?

Just wondering if this can be done or if anyone has tried it. I would like to start running E85 (I think its 108 octane) in the car on motor but when I spray I will need more octane in the stand-a-lone tank. What are your opinions on this?

Thanks

Tony

i would just run a 100 percent menthanol which is around 113 octane.

Can't get that around here. I can however get E85.

Why not just use the 105 octane E85 for both?

i agree use e85 for both. E85 is actually better than c16. It uses more fuel but has a better burn rate.

Running 12.5:1 CR and will be hitting 300+ shot. Do you think 105 octane will be enough? I know E85 burns cooler.

You will use about 30% more fuel when using e85.... i honestly think you will be fine with it. People have made more power with e85 than c16 in a few cases.

I may give it a shot then. Just need to make sure my fuel lines, pumps....etc can handle E85.

Thanks!

What kit are you running? You may want to contact the manufacturer and see what they recommend.

I am looking at doing the same thing. I have been running 1/3 e-85 the last two years and want to go to 100% in the main tank but only have enough fuel system for a 175 shot at 100% e-85. I have a stand alone laying around so I bought a plate and figured I would run a 150 with my dry kit and 150 on the plate with the stand alone. I was thinking of using something stouter than the C16. I was thinking of using the VP import. Very pricy but 5 gals would last 2 years

More power? He needs to know if it'll be safe, not if it will make an extra 1-2% power.

When dealing with bigger hits, I don't see why people are trying to cut corners on fuel. These.."Can I run 91 octane instead of 94 octane" threads scare me...Do you want it to live? I've been told that mixing fuel is asking for trouble. The nitrous tune should be a far cry from the motor tune. Different plugs/fuel/timing.. C16/NO2/C23 are the proven nitrous brews.

i have c16 in my dedicated and run 93 in my tank. i had to dial fuel pressure back to 45 psi from the 58-60 that my kit was jetted for and drop from a 46 jet to a 35 jet to get the a/f where it needed to be.
