Coated combustion cambers?
Do any of you guys do this? I am trying to do a little research on it but I'm not finding much.
From what I have read about it, it seems to me that if you coated your chambers and didn't have the tops of your pistons coated that it could possibly burn a hole in a piston faster.
If anyone is knows their **** about this stuff please chime in.

400 total 114 and sometimes 116 race gas
I was thinking about doing the piston tops and skirts and possibly the chambers.
The threads that I found on this subject are really old so I didn't know if things had changed. From what I have read people are saying that coating the chambers prevents the head from dissipating the heat and it causes more sensitivity to detonation/pre ignition

wow thats alot.
well i'm not experienced with coating CC's so im not going to blow smoke up your ***. but we have built a few engines that we coated the pistons, and that **** works. when we took them out of the oven, we took the surface temp with an inferred and the coated parts were INSTANTLY 70* cooler. we've also taken heads off and the coating still looked like new.
