Default SB2.2 package FS

I have an SB2.2 top end package for sale. These are from Hendrick Motorsports and were used for dyno only. The package consists of the heads, Del West Ti valves, Ti retainers and Ti locks, Jesel shaft rockers, Crower roller lifters, GM valley pan, new unported Edlebrock SB2.2 intake and a pair of GM valve covers. All part numbers are in the pics. I'm not sure what block these were on as the offset lifters suggest a standard (non SB2) block but I'm sure Crower can provide more info on the lifters application. I have not measured but these should be close and look identical to my other set on the camaro in my sig that are 275cc ports with 2.15/1.65 valves, 1.8/1.7 rockers and 48cc chambers. That set flowed 389/270 I/E and makes 760 hp from a 396 with a mild road race cam. Obviously if you are looking at this then you kow what these are and what they are capable of flowing. I was going to build another SB2.2 motor but have decided to go in a different direction. These are missinig 2 springs, 2 retainers and 2 locks from 1 cylinder and the weld bungs on top of the valve covers have a small crack on the weld on the inside of each, easy fix.

I am asking $3650 and that's shipped and insured to your door in the U.S. I do have paypal but you will need to cover half the fee. If you have any questions you can call me at 610-301-3872. Thanks. Dave Norquest.

If you want to build a Gen 1 or even convert them to an LTx block like I did you can make serious power. Our 396 Ltx with a road race cam made 760 on the engine dyno and 1040 on a 250 hit.

Dave how much would it cost to convert these heads over to an LT-x setup? What kind of intake are you running?

Dang..

What other parts would you have to run, along with these heads/intake/rockers?(LTx of course)

The cost of the conversion for an LTx as the same as it would be for any 23* non-reverse cooled head. It's a simple matter of welding and drilling the coolant passages to fit the LTx block, maybe $300. The issue becomes having a short block that will withstand 8000+ rpm, having an aftermarket EFI setup, using custom pistons, headers and pushrods. Other than that it can be done way more simple than we did it.

You need to run the intake that comes with them or a sheetmetal of course. As you can see the ports are way different than anything LTx. We cut the cowl and ran a 4 bbl style throttle body but it would be easier to run an elbow and an LS1 style TB. You would still need a cowl hood.

To do it on a budget I would pistons will cost around $900, headers about the same (I got mine from Lemons who already had a template for a 4th gen for these heads. I had to do some relocation of the passenger side floor but I can call Dan and he can make the mods to their template so they would be a fairly straight bolt in). Good pushrods will run $300. The lifters that come with these should work for an LTx block but may need some machine work to the block. If you can find a good deal on a quality crank and rods and find a used GENVII DFI or similar you can build a naturally aspirated motor that makes as much or more than building a stout short block and buying blower (which would work out to about the same price).

If anyone buys these I will supply as many of the specs for ours as I can. That will save a ton of time researching and measuring which parts to use. Plus I can give the part number for our Diamond pistons so you can call them and make changes that you want for yours and I can call Dan Lemons and give him the mods for the headers for a drop in. This is a killer deal. There's about $15,000 worth of hardware for sale here.

FlyinZ - I'm guessing you have good parts in your NUTEK short block, could reuse you crank and rods and save a ton. Sell your pistons, heads and valvetrain and you'll be saving thousands on this conversion.

P.S. Harold, you can skip the whole conversion expense and just buy our car. It's for sale. $42,000 and it's yours with support and help from me for as long as you need

What all would be needed to run these on a Gen 1 Small Block? We have two North Eastern Dirt Modifieds that we are looking to make some more power with next year. The motors are Built with all good parts I just dont know what parts would need to be changed to make these heads work.

Thanks,
Rob

Sorry for the late reply. In order to make these heads work on a standard carb'd Gen1 sbc you would need Sb2.2 specific pistons, headers, pushrods and possibly a cam.

Still for sale BTW.
