So I think I figured out what happened in the Camaro at PIR the other night that caused it to loose oil pressure, main bearings. Drained the oil today and it's burnt smelling, full of very fine gold glitter. What exactly caused it, or if that's actually the cause is still unknown. My guess is it has to do with when my flywheel came loose on Wong's dyno last year, it probably did more damage to the crank than what I thought (and had fixed). It was hammering around BAD. Spent a lot of money on machine work fixing everything, probably should've just replaced the crank.
Not giving up though, got myself a 2007 13k mile engine from B&R the other day, going to swap that in box stock with 15lbs of boost and a 50-75 shot. Still going to the dyno on August 29th. Not worried about longevity since it's temporary, going to build a new engine this winter with more arp junk and a better cam.

Don't you have an aluminum 5.3 sitting in your garage?

Well, it's not "new", it does have about 1k miles on from when I tore it apart/put it together again in the winter to fix the crank, lol. But yeah, it is my built v6. Can't wait to tear it apart and figure out what happened exactly. Something else must've gotten messed up when the flywheel tried to take a vacation last year. I drove it one last time today, and it doesn't pull hard anymore either, 11lbs of boost feels like 5, need to figure out what happened and make sure it doesn't happen in the new engine I'm going to build.
I did have a 5.3, and kinda wish it was still here, lol. Sold it to a guy either on here or nation (can't remember). An aluminum twin turbo 327 would be slick. Fits my fancy for a smaller engine too. Maybe someday when I'm done with the buick turbo 6 gig...
