I figured you were putting boost on it since you were wanting the 317 heads How do you like the traci-lock not sure what I want yet lookng for a cheap setup to keep m on the road instead of replacing 10 bolt's.

Yes, it's lowered. I'm aware of the little "features" that come with having a bullet proof rearend lol.... I have already made plans to do some sheetmetal work under the car. Thanks for the heads-up though.

Hey, I heard your car running tonight when I was over there. What are the specs on that cam? It's lumpy, and sounds mean as hell.

Brandon, I scrapped out my 10 bolt. I still have the torsen carrier, 3:42 gears, four channel axles, and a cast aluminum AAM(?) rear cover. Let me know if you need any of it to keep your 10 bolt going. The ford trac loc is holding up so far. I would probably go with a Detroit locker if I made big power.
Mikey, I must have had my car in the air twenty times trying to beat in the area where the torque arm bracket hits the rear seat well. I finally pulled the rear seat and carpet and cut four slits over the area to allow easy bending. Once I got the needed clearance, I sealed it with carbon fiber on the inside and calked the underside. have fun.

Ya, Bobby had to deal with those same issues when he installed his Moser 9". I was actually thinking about cutting a hole in the floorboard where it hits, and fabbing up a removable access panel. The access pannel could be formed to clear the torque arm bracket much easier than the existing floor board. This would not only allow more clearance, but would allow better access to the torque arm bolts from the top as well.

If Brandon doesn't take those axles, I will. Sent you a PM. I already have a 31 spline Detroit Locker though.

Sounds good. Good point in the pm too, maybe should sell the whole chunk as a unit?
Then he only needs the housing. I'll give a good deal as well. In fact while the cars apart it should get done out of conveinence I would think...LOL

Mike, I live in Eugene. I asked here for someone to help me with the head swap and Brandon volunteered. Stand up guy who didn't know me. It got late in the fall so we put it off until this year when the weather gets better. I am an old guy in the farts dust category and climbing around a F-body motor bay takes it's toll. I want to let Brandon have first shot at the parts.

I'm not a repair shop so it wasn't a business proposition..LOL... just an offer for help I'm going to help another person in Portland in a bit with a head an cam install as well. I dont do tuning but I do have a few tools... not quite TV repair man status but a few things...LOL I've done a few swaps and I know Brandon as well so I would join you guys if you need a hand.

Thanks 99blanco. I appreciate your offer. I do have a garage with a 30" lift which makes getting the car off the ground a snap. Also lots of tools including air. In doing some reading on the head swap, those grounds on the back of the heads scared me. I can't get the old body stretched out over a motor anymore The youth and knowledge you and Brandon can bring would be greatly appreciated.

Is that tuner capable of changing tire size? If so, I'd check that. Also check to see if you have the correct transmission setting on the tune ie: auto or manual. You should be able to put the stock tune back in it and start over right?

It runs the vin # to make sure its your car, and then asks if you want to do a custom tune on it. Then i change the tire size to 25'00 and put the ratio to 3.43 cause thats stock. And it still messed up.....should i just call Crane cams and find out?...

I would call Crane. I had that tuner before and it functioned pretty darn good for me. Sounds like the tuner is having an issue.
