You're welcome to come introduce yourself, eat pizza, and help wherever you can.
pro1955,
Yeah, I'm actually debating sketching out the lines before the lift gets here. I'm thinking of making a paper/cardboard cutout of the right dimensions and chalking around that.
As for the height, it's a pole structure and there's about a 2' gap between the center truss and the garage door at full open position. I'll be raising it in the 2' gap. It will mean the bottom of the truss will be slightly below the cutoff switch height, but I'm cool with that.
There's still a chance I can come up with a dollie or two. Those two pieces are the main reason I want to have a half dozen bodies present to dead lift it if necessary. I estimate they weigh about 400lb each before assembly.

UPDATE!!!!
Due to shipping problems my lift is stuck in Portland and won't get here 'till Monday. Obviously this means we aren't going to be able to have the install party tomorrow. I'm so bummed. Therefore, I am pushing it back a week to the 28th. Let me know if that is going to be an issue for people, especially those providing tools.
Thanks for your willingness to help...and eat pizza,
Pat

I know it really sucks. The weather right now is perfect for it. Next week it's going to be 10 degrees cooler and likely raining. At least we'll be mostly under cover.

Hey Pat, I'm going to try to make it... but don't count me on your pizza head count. I forgot that I have a 2.5 hour CPR class to attend tomorrow morning at 11am, then I have a dog training class in the afternoon. If I can make it, it'll only be for an hour or two... but I'm gonna try, since I was planning on being there last weekend before those bastage shippers bumped your install.

Pics from today!
Hi all, thanks again to those that made it. We had a lot of good natured male bonding, downed the better part of 4 pizzas and 3 cases of soda and managed to get the lift nearly completed as well!!!!
Shawn and a number of other car people all showed up, many with tools, to help out. I couldn't have done it without all your help!
Now for some pics...

Now that I've been a part of doing it, I think that a team of 3 guys that knows what they're doing could probably knock it out in 2 hours flat. We probably spent 3 hours of actual work with the rest of the time goofing and trying to figure out which end was which.
