As for gas mileage, I bet your Olds gets better mpg than my ol 57 Sedan Delivery did with it's built 327. And I bet it's faster too!

After I got the headers installed, and if I don't drive like an animal, I can get a
"point A to Point B mileage of 24. No Lie!
The headers made a huge difference. I was getting 20 before the change.
The downside is that the car is much louder but it did also make a noticeable
change in power as well.
I'll take what I can get.

dogtag that's cool, we love animals our pets are part of the family. When you rescue them are they just to much dog for people?

It's not that, it's usually health problems.
People don't have a clue what it costs to do surgery on the animals and allot of times people don't have the heart to put them down so they leave them with us.
(We own an Emergency Clinic for animals)
We do our best to fix them and then bring them home for how ever much time they have left. Often its way to short.
We have six rescues and three "normal" mutts.

The last rescue we got was brought to us by the Seattle Police (we take care of their K9s in emergencies)
She had been found on someones lawn and had been poisoned. Wifie was able to pump her stomach and give her an antidote and saved her but the Police couldn't find out who she belonged to so we brought her home.

We've had at least 30 rescues over the last 15 or so years. There have been other breeds but we're particular to Danes.

There have been times when we've had to find other homes as often a grown dog won't assimilate into the "group".
Some do, some don't.

I understand how expensive surgery can be, our dalmation had kidney stones about 70 where found in his bladder and urinary tract. The vet Michelle Sage had to construct a new urinary tract big enough for him to pass stones in the future.

I appreciate the work your family does, my sister runs Kitty Haven which takes in cats gets them healthy and adopts them out.

I raise Danes for a period. Harlequins. My favorite was Harvey. He was a Boston colored Dane. Damn, I loved that dog. He lasted just over 8 years and it broke my heart to put him down. He developed neuopathy and lost control of his hind quarters. They are big babies and very smart dogs.

My sister has a Dane, And she had lots of problems with hers. Growing to fast, joints couldn't keep up. They had to keep it in the kennel for the first few months, put it on a strick diet and all that... Expensive too.

I love those dogs. But I will stick with my boxers...

I think a lot of people are starting to have problems in general with large breed dogs growing too fast depending on the puppy food they give them, and noticed a lot of food companies bringing out more large breed puppy formulas to help. We've kept ours on Solid Gold large breed dog food and she actually seems small compared to other shepherds her age but she's still topping the scales at over 80lbs.
