Well the truck just keeps getting better lol... Tim (SalvageZ28) came over today to see the truck. He was going through the glovebox and found these little gems. The original owners manual and the Protecto-Plate protection plan book. Check out the signature and dates on the Protecto-Plate.

My 64 had the original owners manual and orginal California license plates stamped with the year 64 in the glove box. It is cool finding those little treasures.

Sweet. You must have got it for a decent deal then?

I did about 10 minutes of work to the truck yesterday. It was WAAAAY out of time, which I suspected ever since I drove it and it kept wanting to stall if I gave it too much gas. I'd say it was about 6-8 degrees out lol.... She blows the tires off from a stop now and I haven't even touched the carb yet lol..... Oh, also found out it's got an Edelbrock carb and Edelbrock aluminum manifold. Didn't have a clue the manifold was an Ebrock because it was painted black. Someone wanted to keep it looking somewhat original I guess lol...

Cody, do you know if I can use the stock powerglide converter with a TH400?

No the pump shafts are different. Hey I have a needle and jet kit for Edelbrock/Carter carbs. You can have it if you want it.

Very nice Mike! Truck looks really good, and I know you will take good care of her.

I've always wanted that body style in a 4x4 and a manual tranny

Might be needing that Edelbrock kit. The truck won't idle for **** now so it's either got a vacuum leak or the carb needs to be gone through. I had to go through and tighten all the manifold and carb bolts, they were all loose and that's when it started idling weird.

Thanks man. Does it have gaskets too, like a rebuild kit or is it just needles and jets for tuning?

Just needles and jets and a couple springs. No gaskets or diaphram.

Nice looking truck Mikey! My kid brother has a 65 C10 that I did a vortec based 409 sbc build in a couple years ago with a TH400 behind it. Its pretty original other than the new engine and the TH400. Yep, its me Tom, I am back here, well when I have time anyways.

Hey thanks Tom and welcome back. I have a TH400 that's ready to go in the truck whenever I get some free time to do it. I can't stand the powerglide that's in there now.

I think Cody has a 64 C10 that's in pieces lol....

Yeah Tom and I have talked about my 64 C10 before, and I've met his brother and seen his 65. Speaking of TH400, I just got done removing that bastard. It was a huge pain getting that out of the motorhome. But now sitting next to the Allison, it looks like such a baby. So I've got that converter for you when ever your ready.
