I dont think rear gears will fit in the tranny case..lol Thanks for the offer. Todd offered me his too. I have the factory 342 posi so that shouldnt be a problem if the swap even happens. At this point I am leaning towards a 5gal gas can and a road flare to deal with everything..lol Just kidding

It's gonna be worth it in the end, it's fantastic to actually drive the car My Camaro will never get a granny tranny no matter what engine it gets or what power it will someday make, just too much fun. Fun to watch too, Mike's car is a prime example, lot more exciting to watch him run then a lot of the auto guys who run similar times.

if you don't feel like doing the rebuild yourself, for 1500 you can get all new gears, carbon fiber syncros, billet shifter fork pads, steal 3-4 shifter fork and billet struts from tick performance. they did a great job on mine. also do my eyes deceive me or is that a used clutch you will be installing?

i would highly suggest a new one (LS7 is your best bet, no shim needed) especially since the tranny is in such crappy shape.

i can tell you how he broke second gear....2nd gear burn out! it is your enemy!

for a master, if using a GM clutch then use a stock master and slave, but i highly suggest getting a remote bleeder from tick performance. it makes bleeding the ridiculous GM hydrolics alot easier.

also reusing the slave on these cars is a hit and miss, the GM slave does not like to be reused.

Oh heck no. I am getting a new slave and have no choice on the master, guy that I got everything from basically got his money and ran and didnt give me everything that was in the deal. I called tick for the parts but the guy I spoke to was kinda a jerk off. I am going to run the spec stage 1 i think or the ls7. I have also looked at d and d for parts but im doing it myself. tired of getting screwed trusting the worng people. Know what i mean.

For me its always a matter of finding the time. I have the knowledge, and mikes phone number..lol

I highly doubt that.

I have in the neighborhood of 150 time slips per year.

Does it look like this?

Thats what I did to mine..

The Gear on the left is a Viper Spec Gear, alot tougher.

I rebuilt mine to race spec using the Tick Stage 2 Kit, and a couple other small tweaks. Its been holding up very well except for the 6th Gear Synchro just ate ****..I'll pull it apart when I get really bored.

Yes that is pretty much what it looks like. Except there is nothing, I mean it cleaned them off completely... I am going with the viper as well and bascially the same kit you did with some tweaks

If by swap you mean the pile of crap torn apart in my garage, then it is going great. By the time I rebuild it I could have bought a complete swap from Hawks with a warrenty and ALL of the parts to do the swap, unlike what I got.

I think my sig speaks for itself
