i have had my pacesetters for about 5 years and havent had a problem with them neither. fitment issues with GTO's that i dont know. with F-body's. i didnt have any problems installing them or any fitment issues. here is a pic of mine. the car is a DD and has 194K and probably 60K on the headers.

PaceSetters are notorious for rusting
as well as there flanges never sealing to the head

K00KS are about as good as it gets
(I've had mine on for about 4 years / 55K miles, no leaks)

if you do go with pacesetters (or any non SS tubing)
make sure to get coated
I'd just go SLP then

I bought my coated 1 3/4 pacesetters for my 99 WS6 about 2 1/2 years ago....they still look great and affordable. This car has been my daily driver and the only places it's starting to discolor is at the bottom of the collectors. From all the water and road trash getting on them...but who's gonna see that but me. These headers work great on my bone stock LS1. Gave me an extra 35 rear wheel horsepower. Huge cam and heads....yeah, I'd go with the 1 7/8 headers too.
