yhea that will do it, What mods are in your future? Stage 2 would be alright for what you have now, but if any more mods are in the works you might want to look at a stage 3, i have the stage 3i It is the stage 3 pressure plate with the stage 5 disk, and it is really streatable, but hard to slip. I guess it all depends on what you call streetable, hell i drive on slicks in the rain

With your mods I would just get the LS6 clutch. If you want room for future growth I'd do a Spec III xpad. The first 300 or so miles are hell then it stops chattering and drives fine.. different but fine.

I also have an 01 clutch and flywheel in the garage with 13K on it if you need something to get you by.

I imagine the spec II would be very drivable but the LS6 clutch comes with flywheel and is hella cheap and would compare to the spec II.

I have heard as many bad things about the Specs as I have good... personally with your mods, I'd go with either a McLeod single disc Kevlar/Organic, or a RAM Powergrip stage 3. Both of those are supposed to be very streetable, and are price-friendly.

i looked at the mcleod prices and i was dumbfounded
93tawicked: how much you want to let those parts go for?

I am going to need room to grow as here in the next 2 years im planning some afr heads and a mid range cam, to go with a different exhaust setup and in the next five i will also be adding an ATI procharger and forging the bottom end. so something to get me by for now is what i need.

I had the single disc in my LT1 car went through two of them with only 340rwhp....

If you have the money all the mid level vette guys run the LUK pro, Luk is the company that makes the LS6 clutch and the pro is supposed to handle some serious power and be very streetable I think its like 800 with flywheel though not sure.

As far as my 01 clutch if you just need something to get you by for a little while you can have it with the flywheel for $50 and you come pic it up. It has a couple of burn marks on it from a hot burn out that was done RIGHT before it was taken out. Only reason I replaced it was because the dealer was rebuilding the tranny so it was a free clutch replacement. It would be good for awhile but once you get those mods you are talking about it would be toast.

It would be a good upgrade from your clutch supposively all 01+s came with the LS6 clutch but have never been able to confirm that....

I'm not talking the twin disc, mind you... I'm talking the single disc kit. It can be had for less than $800 for the clutch, billet steel flywheel, and adjustable master cylinder. That's right in line with the SPEC and RAM clutches if you get a billet steel flywheel and an adjustable master with those clutches...

I think I'm gonna go with the LS6 when I do mine for budget reasons, they came in the 01-02 f-bodies from the factory as well.

Well like I said mine maybe an LS6 it did come out of an 01 WS6.

Catransam just let me know whenever it is just sitting in my garage. I was just saving it in case the A4 goes out in the vert it will be replaced with a T56. Its the only way to rebuild an A4

I HIGHLY recomend the Twin disk if you are going to make power. YES they are expensive BUT the come with the adjustable master and Flywheel. They adjusable master is a MUST IMHO.

Some one priced us recently and we were cheaper than any he had found but I am sure that guy in Everett would do it cheaper

BTW Anyone who has been to my house has seen the custom built cluth hangin on the wall. a $300 disk said to be good for over 500RWHP. did not even make one pass at 400RWHP!

Good luck man!

Well, when I do my clutch you can have my stock (LS6) clutch if you want it and if it is in good shape when it's pulled out... it'll have less than 25k miles on it.

I'll also be getting an adjustable master cylinder so you could probably have the stock master as well.

i agree with elis, on not going with what clutches are rated for. my stock clutch didn't last lnog with just bolt on's. My stage 2 spec lasted all of one burnout with a just a 231 cam on slicks and that was in the burnout box at the track. the 3i clutch i have now hold evrything i can throw at it 6k launches on the bottle wheels up and hasn't even made a noise. Evryone says they chatter real bad for the first 500 miles, but both specs i have had were perfect from day one. no chatter what so ever, mybee it was the install but who knows. for the money i would choose spec again next clutch if i ever kill this one will be their stg5 but streetable doesn't really matter to me

I'm also keeping my eye's open for a clutch. Mines still barks 3rd with authority, but I know one day it'll go out on me. I've got 36,000 mi. on it now. The Ram seems to make alot of people happy while retaining good street manners with a good price ??

I've pretty much narrowed my choice down to the RAM Powergrip HD, or the McLeod single disk kevlar/organic. I was looking at SPEC, but man, they really seem to be either hit or miss... people either get ones that hold great, or they get one that pretty much frags itself on the first pass at the track.

RAM and McLeod have both had their problems, but they seem to have more consistently good ratings across the board by their users.

In either case, I'll be going with a billet steel flywheel and an adjustable master cylinder.

As long as the Mod's are cool with it I will give the info.

I work at Kirkland Transmission 425-822-3131. If the car is undrivable we can have it towed. We do just about any work needed on 4th gen F-body's Not sure why LOL We also stand behind our work like no other shop I have ever seen.

Who else have you seen give a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty on 600hp Vette 4L60E?
