This is kinda late but here goes. It's illegal to use it on public roadways. If you have a bottle in your car, it had better be closed. Of course, all of this depends on the disposition and knowledge of the officer that stops you.

My take on it is this ... if you can't see it and nobody knows it there, then it's perfectly legal

I was under the impression that it was illegal to have it "hooked up" with a bottle attached, even if the bottle is closed.. Don't know the real law though.

there is no actual nitrous law in washington on the books... I looked, never found one. there's also a database of laws on nitrous across the country, and there wasn't an entry for Washington state (along with about half the states out there).

I thought you had to keep the bottle closed on the street (hence remote bottle openers), but I like the idea of no law at all in washington even better .

^^^ what he said, I even just did a search through the RCW and the only nitrous entries had to do with doctors

I just found out through air gas that you can no longer fill your bottle without a racing license. I have a 200 shoot on my colorado zr2 filled my bottle last yr no problem this yr now i have to have a racing license or be affiliated with a race team. It's all bs to me.

I spoke to a Washington State Patrol officer a while back,
asked him if there was any law against running with the bottle hooked up on the street

his response,
no laws against having nitrous in the car
if you're running the juice on the street, you're probably breaking other laws (speed limit)
and if you get pulled over for something like blowing away the speed limit or STREET RACING, it's gonna make it hard for you to defend yourself.

BTW,
it's nice to see a 17 year old thread bumped to the top
