Default New Plates

I got my new plates in the mail today. I was kind of disapointed though. They are not stamped anymore. It is just a stupid decal. So now ANYONE can make a Washington State license plate if you want. I am pretty sure they still make them at the Penitentiary so they are not that expensive to make them correctly. Correctional Industries only pays $1.10/hr tops. I feel jipped!

Anyway, here is the picture of the install:

Man they just made get another set two monthes ago and mine are still pressed?

Kinda crappy if you ask me. Make us pay more for the plates then make the plate cheaper to justify us replacing them all the time

I miss my yellow plates. They looked good with the color. When they switched to the current blue and white I put em' on and stepped back "Man, that looks like ***" and put the cover back on the car.

Oh, now that sucks...they look better with the pressed letters. Now it's going to be really easy for the theifs to steal our plates!

I think you were following me home from the hospital the other night about 10ish and revved your engine at me as you passed on 100th.

I won't be getting new plates if they are stickers.

They are not really stickers but it looks like the letters are just silkscreened on. I am going to file a complaint with the DOL. It won't do any good but I do feel jipped. I just paid $44.75 for personal plates plus the regular licensing cost. For that kind of price they should be done right.

Strange indeed, our plates came in and the lettering is stamped. Maybe you got a 'bad' plate? Did DOL say they are changing them? Usually they plaster that in the news and I can't find anything on a license plate change.

This is the reply from the dol:

"These are the new plates that are digitally mastered . We required by law to do all personalized and specialty plates this way.
there is no way to stamp them rather than digitally done.
Sandy Snook"

What a buch of crap. What rcw? I know if CI still makes these plates they are done on a CAD computer before they are stamped. Digitally Mastered? What? These are license plates, not records.

I like em. I originally wanted SNAKETR, but it was the wifes car at that time & she didn't care for it.

I personally try to avoid references to eating snakes, especially driving a purple car. Could give someone a whole different impression.

I can certainly understand her point of view, however blonde, red T/A, with those plates she probably get a lot of takers.

Took me a couple hours to just figure out the TYPO! Dolby! haha good one zeke I was wondering what the heck Dubly was and a Google search came up with some other language...I thought it was some new term for some graphics thing or something..

It does suck about the plates, they made them before why are they changing them now? and only to personalized plates? I call discrimination!!
