Default Anyone with stall in the area??

I am contemplating getting a stall convertor soon.......or swapping to the M6. I wanted to know if anyone in the area had a stalled late model F-body and would be willing to take me for a ride? Just to get the idea of what a stalled car feels like. Unless someone wants to swap trannies!!?? I live in Puyallup but am willing to travel.

I use to have a 2800 stall in my 95 when I had the 4L60E in there. I now have a 3500 stall with a manual valve body TH350.

You can ride in my car. I just put a Yank SS3200 in my car. It seems very streetable. Well, with Ellis's tuning help it is anyway. It's not the optimum converter for drag racing, because I also plan to do an open road race with it. But it certainly made a difference in 60' times. My opinion, if you have Ellis install it and tune it, you will be VERY happy with the results!

Ditto except I have a 4200 stall in a RMVB TH400! We both live a little too far away for a test ride. I will say that the 4200 stall is not that bad driving on the street. i just float on the 'verter alot at lower speeds. Takes a little getting used to.

go with a 3200-3500 stall you won't regret the stall. What you will regret is that DAMN 4L60E!

I have a 3600. I love the effect over the stock, but kiss your mileage (and your tires) goodbye! I would not mind using something a little lower (in the 3200 range) and would probably be just as happy.

Ellis is going to put a 3300 yank in my hot rod, sounds like the perfect converter for me with that cam he put in i should be able to keep tires, Umm lets say for a few weeks. The tire guy is going to love me

Is there anyone local who has a M6 for sell or trade? This is my preferred mod. I know the A4 can kick some hiney with a stall, but I don't race enough to put the money into it. I'd rather have the M6 and have more fun just driving around. However, I still haven't ruled out the stall. That's why I wanted to ride in one to see what the hype is all about!

My impression of a stall is that if it's a tighter one, like mine, for normal drving it isn't that much different than stock. Don't get me wrong, it IS different, but not obnoxious. The car is a little louder, kinda hovers around 2k & shifts from gear to gear.

However, when you lay into it, the car is totally different. Off the line it's like reving it up & dumping the clutch. That dead spot from 0-20 you have now, where you are waiting for the motor to get into it's power band....GONE! Up in smoke....literally. Even with slicks & no tire spin it's gone.

People say a stall is the single best mod you can make to an A4 car. I'm not sure about that, I really like cams & headers myself because of the sound, but it's up there as far as performance goes. Anyway, IMO the only advantage you'd get by going to an M6 over a stall is better road race performance (downshifting coming into / out of corners).

I'm not sure you can do a M6 swap for cheap. You would have more money into a M6 swap than just putting a stall in and tuning. Just my .02
