Oh, I think a bit faster than I polished. Somewhere around 4 seems to stick in my mind.

I'm about ready to go to town on my car too. It's telling me the time has come.

I've been having to do the car without mine - granted it was my Grandpa's and old but I never noticed the exposed wires at the pig tail. Its frayed beyond electrical tape and too old to do a quick re-wire tail since it has 4 wires, not three (meaning I'll have to crack it and re-wire the whole thing). It needed a longer cord anyway.

Since this one only has three settings then it would be a 4 on a newer one with terry covers - microfiber you could ramp it up a notch. Always start as far under the rear clip in case your paint is super soft and burns - at least not many people would see it.

I thought 3-4 sounded about right, but I went & looked at the Meguiars website & they say 1500 rpm. Which is very odd, since #1 = 2500rpm. Ecuse me, OPM (orbits). Anyway, I polished the nose @ 1 & it looks OK. Maybe I'll try 3-4 with the wax today.

that 1500rpm is most likely for a high speed rotary buffer. check the autopia site, they give all this info there.

so, has anybody detailed their glass yet? Mine is horribly spotted. I am going to get a glass polishing kit and see how it works. supposed to be used with the pc. next weekend is detail time for the formy!!

The only thing I've done to glass is go over it with a clay bar.

Eastwood has a bunch of glass polishing stuff as well. They also have a forum site, might get some tips there as well.

RainX has a glass cleaner, smells like toothpaste but it really pulls the crap out of the glass without leaving it slippery.

I'm still putting on the other coats by hand...good work out but ow. Sore.
