Sit as far away from the screen as you can. I was half way back (which is as far as I could get) and I still missed alot.

I won't say it's the best Star Wars yet (you still can't beat the original), but it is in the top three, and definately the best prequal.

I might watch it when it comes out on DVD. Wasn't really a fan of the original 3 or Episode 1. Never saw episode 2.

Default Spoiler

SPOILER(don't read this if you haven't seen it yet)

We saw it at 12:01am. It was very enjoyable, great effects, great battles, great swordplay, good resolution(closes all the story links nicely). My one complaint is that the acting made the whole Padme/Anakin thing rather bland when it should have been heart wrenching. I couldn't believe Padme's loss of desire to live because the romance wasn't compelling enough to set up the tradgedy, IMO.

Overall, great movie, definitely the best of the first 3, but still room for improvement.

Lucas could have easily added another half hour to it and not lost anyone's attention. It was riviting but needed a bit more development. (Example: Anikan pledging himself to Palpatine was a bit cheesy or the Padme loosing the will to live thing as stated above. And after waiting to see the wookie home world and Alderan for 35 years they showed them for what seemed to be about 35 seconds.) But like I said before, it IS worth the price of admission and I will be seeing it again tonight. ***1/2

I just saw it last night and thought it was really good. The special effects were awesome.

I saw it last night too....loved it except for the noisy-*** lightsaber wielding dorks behind us who were stoned outta their minds and giggling and making loud comments and noises thru the whole movie............I will be going again very soon.

HA! Which reminds me of another reason it is nice to have a stainless steel hook for a left hand. Snapped it under the nose of a few drunken highschoolers at a movie years ago and shut them right up.
The movie? Rambo III....

I'll wait a few more weeks to see SW III. Not that into them anymore, and I hate crowded theatres.

Nice to hear good reviews, though! Thanks all for sharing that.

SPOILER THOUGHT:

Padme took the route of willing death to protect her and her children. The notion Anikan used the force while in crispy-critter state makes it beleiveable, she knew he would come after her and the twins.

We are going to try and meet up this weekend for a showing in Monroe, they have a digital theater which apparently shows a longer version.

Yeah, when I see it next time it will be in that theatre in Monroe. I saw it in the Cinerama on their 3 story screen and next I wll see it in DLP, but I will wait a couple of weeks now that I have seen it twice in as many days until the crowd thins out.

Yeah, the digital version is supposed to have a few more scenes in it. It's kind of like when they release the movies on IMAX they have to cut some out because the size of the film is physically too large for the reels.

And when it's released on DVD this fall it will (reportedly) be longer still.

Movie, action, effects all great. Acting was pretty bad for that level of a movie. I think Vader should be a bigger dude anyways, but really he just can't act. A better actor probably could of pulled off the pledge scene etc. Kinda wierd cause hamilton wasn't the best actor either but the originals never took themselves seriously so it wasn't a distraction. I like how they got Chewy in there, I recognized him when I first saw him.
