Lifter holding tool??
Lifter holding tool?? Well, I'm just about ready to go buy an air compressor and get my cam installed. Waiting for the retainers to show up... plus I need to help with a header install in my garage on another forum members car first then I'll start tearing down the vette...I'll let him talk about it if he wants 
Anyone have the rods to hold up the lifters I could barrow for a little while? If I drop a lifter a 402 would go in and I really don't want to start using Credit cards to fund my modding habit!!

I thought I read that for some reason those don't fit in the 01+ block (which makes no sense to me) but you need rods with a flat edge..

Yes, buy some 5/16" rods from Home Depot, flatten the pass side rod a LITTLE, & slide em in. I can measure our 'group rods' when I get home so you know how much to grind & how long each side needs to be.
