Default SOOO Off Topic, but I just gotta share ... FROGS!

Tonight Tom was getting ready to leave for work and there it was RIBBIT RIBBIT! YES!!!! But it gets better! About a half hour later I began hearing CROAK CROAK ... at first I thought it was the same frog, but after a while I was hearing CROAK RIBBIT CROAK RIBBIT ... There are TWO frogs down there! WOOOHOOO!

Our "pond" currently is very basic ... we put the liner back in and filled it with water to hold it down. The streams are finished, but have no water running in them. We have no pumps or anything and all we have done is bucket out water every so often after watering the yard or a big rain so it isnt overflowing. We had some algae growth durring the hot spell, but now have mostly natural bacteria. There are 2 water irises and some pond grass that Tom got from a (natural) pond where he works (a sawmill) We put rocks all around the liner to conceal it - real rocks, not concrete, that we picked up around the area. Oh, and there are some ornamental grasses and a log from last year's Christmas tree. That is it.

Lots of raccoons and possums roaming around for target practice... just leave some garbage by the curb for a little bit, set up a lawn chair about 50 feet away and wait.

Get sick of "ribbit ribbit, croak croak"?!? Not on your life! I am a little house in the big woods (on the lake) kind of girl lol

The real irony here was that I HATE crickets ... and listening to the frogs last night I was thinking "Now we just need some fish jumping and crickets out there chirping and it would be perfect ..."

OOPS! Dang I hate having one computer! I assure you Tom is NOT any kind of girl LOL

Hate to disappoint you two ... but here goes anyway lol I made some adjustments around the pond today and tonight the RIBBIT frog was drawn out of the rocks and down onto the island ........ it is all of 1 1/2 inches long and would serve better as the toothpick then the meal

Still be good for target practice though. Small moving objects make for great talent tests.

Yeah ... problem is, unless you are using a .22 your bullet is going to be bigger than the whole frog!
