No MY car was running 11s N/A on a STOCK short block and ported STOCK heads I was running 110% injecter PW so no N2O the last year.

Look up my Web page and you will find alot of info on the car and see some of the new stuff going into it. I have nothing to hide

I was Talking to Bill just last night to try and get some RSE style racing grude matches going after we run CCCA in the other lanes. We could set it up for heads up or call cars by the tenth of a second on the tree. NO times on the clock's

Basic rules would be
Red lighting is a lose.
No times shown on the board just win lights.
add basic NHRA safty and it is as close as you could get to street racing with out getting arested

BTW Push rods rule and are half the price

Wait Esoteric - you bought a Mustang over a Camaro for the back seat leg room? Whatever your taking, I want some buddy! If you slide the seat all the way back on a Stang it touches the back seat. Whereas I can get 4 adults into my TA. No way could I get into the back seat of my buddies GT....

That said, the only affordable performance car GM builds now is the GTO. And it performs like the 05 GT. Straightline.....it runs like a BMW M3 thru the turns. And they are killing it next year. GM SUCKS! I may end up with a Ford myself soon. Or that new Dodge Ellis test drove.....

Did someone say "Grudge Racing"? I'm there!!!

I like the C&D comparison where the GTO spanked the new stang in every performance category including 1/4mi (13.2 to 13.8) but gave the win to the stang under their got to have it factor. Thats the category at the end where they have 25points to sway it to the side they want. They gave the stang the full 25 and the GTO 11 therefore letting the stang win by 1 point. The 05 GTO is way better than the new stang. There is no way you can try to call them even unless they are both still at the starting line. Yeah, it sucks that they are killing it.

At PR, I've seen box stock 05's run 13.5 but I haven't seen any GTO's running that (I haven't seen any 05's though just 04's)). I don't fully credit the mags, their testing can be suspect. I prefer seeing them at the track. The Mustang mags got thier box stock 05's to go 13.20's.

-Yeah, leg and trunk room. But that was my wife's decison. Her car is a cammer though. The Fox bodies are my toys. I have not heard that GM is killing the GTO. When did that happen? They will resurrect the Camero.

I'll go to the web page. I'm very interested in what it takes to get a Camero to run 12's, 11's etc. I would like a thorough explanation too.

The heads-up concept is a good one. I feel at a disadvantage since my best time is posted already, so I am a known quantity. Be sure and let me know how your request is faring with Bill. I was planning to bring my slower car because it's probably better for bracket racing, but I'll bring the other one for what you are describing.

Why don't you want any times to show? I always like to know how I did.

Yeah, I hear you about the mags but one thing needs to be kept in mind. This was not one mag test versus another. Both cars, same day, same track, same environment.

Yeah, GM decided to kill the GTO in 06, and NOT build the Camaro (supposedly).

As for GTO track times, the stock 04s run ~14.0 while the 05s run ~13.5 (50hp dif). Our 04 has run 14.25 (@ 2K miles, 14.5 @ 400), but it isn't completely broken it yet, and it's an auto.

And Fox bodies ROCK for race car platforms!!!

Here's the article. Whether you agree with it or not the performance difference between the two are quiet startling. http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=8908

Seems to me I read in a Mustang mag the simmilar results. They actually got .01 better out of the stang but said they really did not know how to drive the goat and admitted with an experienced driver behind the wheel of the pontiac they could have seen it besting the mustang. So it is not just one magazine that did this test. I also read the C&D article when it was first published and could not believe they actually had a "gotta have it factor" as the deciding points.

And I think more women would choose a Mustang over a Camaro anyway because of the "gotta have it factor." There is a certain family heritage, dreaminess, or nestalgia quality about the stang. Very few Camaros carry the same feelings. That is why your wife would have been happy with a 6 cylinder; and you see more men driving Camaros and more women driving Mustangs.

NVME88GT. There will be plenty of racing LEGAL racing.

the reason for no times on the score board is many people do not want there True times displayed. You will still get a slip with YOUR time on it. I know when I push the button this time I am not sure if I want anyone knowing if it ran a 9 or a 10

This type of racing has caught on pretty well in the Chi-town area. Both of the cars from last weeks episode of "Pinks" came from that area. The guy in the camaro goes by "Juicin"...you tell me what he was running He was also in a few of the Video cuts off the "You got the hit" DVD. He was one of the guys that hauled down to Texas in a "Put up or Shut up" match. The Texan's were not playing LOL

Here is a Cut with the same car and a LT1 nose NWS!! Trailer

Now I thing Howard has a very interesting point here. I disagree about the family heritage/nostalgia factor holding sway for a woman, however I can see how most women would choose the 'Stang over the Camaro. It has to do, I think, with versatility - sure, they want a fast car (or one that is percieved as such) with a model history, but they still want to be able to go get groceries, fit their friends or kids in it, etc. You ever tried to put groceries in a newer camaro?? Especially with the convertible it is like a circus trick As for the 6 cly ... most women would be happy with that because they are not out there street racing and ould like better mileage.

Now, having said all that ... here is MY opinion on the two. I like the early 'Stangs, except the fastbacks. That is a car I can really appreciate and I love seeing them on the road. If I had the chance, I would take one in a hot second. All the rest of them I think are ugly, or at best, a nice looking coupe. I see the new Mustangs and think of teenage girls and/or 20-something moms. They are ... cute ... like the 90's Escort GT was cute, like a Toyota sport coupe is cute. I DO NOT look at a new Mustang and think fast car. They could be the fastest thing on the road, and I still wouldnt think it by looking at them. For me, body style is just as important as speed, and frankly I feel the Mustang just blends in with the pack. IMHO they sold out to the family car.

For me, the Camaro - as well as the Firebird - embody American sports car. Thru all the various changes in the body styles, they always stayed with lines that screamed SPORTS CAR. You cannot mistake these for a family car. You know just by looking at them that they were built with speed and fun in mind. Pick any year of Camaro or Firebird and sit it next to the equilivent year of Mustang and only the early Mustangs will compete for bringing FAST to mind on body style alone.

Now, maybe my perceptions are skewed because I grew up with Ellis as my big brother, but I am not so sure. You know, his first car was a Ford Fairlane (and a nice one too, as I so recall), and the cars I remember him working on when I was tagging along were circle-track cars, not 1/4 milers. He had already gone from home by the time he got his Camaro. Even so, the first car I ever remember wanting was a black Iroc-Z that lived down the road from us ... I was about 10 at the time

For what its worth, I feel the same way about the GTO. It is a glorified comfort sedan as far as I'm concerned, and I think it is ugly. I dont see the need to compromise my fast car by making it a family car ... I have a Durango for that

On my last trip moving from my dorms to back home, this is what I fit in my Camaro:
1 full computer tower
1 mid computer tower
1 19" lcd monitor
1 17" crt in a BIG BOX
keyboards and speakers and all that
1 mini fridge
1 duffle bag of clothes
2 garbage bags full of clothes and stuff
comforter and bedsheets, 1 regular pillow, 1 big *** square pillow

And that's leaving out all the little things.. What are you talking about Camaros can't get groceries? I bet my curb weight was well over 4000.

Yeah no ****! This girl I know has an 03 Mustang and whenever I have to ride bitch I have to curl up my legs and tilt my head to the side just so I'm not hurting myself. Whenever we hit a bump, so did my head on the back window!

F-bodies are cramped, but Stangs have less room. As for the 'girly attraction', my wife said not to the Stang, and yes to the TA. But it IS a prettier AND faster car. (flame suit on)

And I've also seen 4 full size wheels w/ racing slicks, a toolbox, floorjack, and lawnchairs fit inside one all at once too.

There are too many mustangs out there for me to want one. Kind of like all the women showing up at the party in the same dress.

I think I saw that episode. One guy was using a 350 shot. In that amount, the term "shot" doesn't really apply, though. As long as I get the timeslip, I don't care if the time flashes up or not. Are you organizing a street racers' evening that goes beyond just those involved in the CCC or would this be for CCC folks only?

The space issue is the reason given by GM for the failure of the Camaro (in sales terms) and since it was the reason my wife chose not go get one, I thought it was worthy of mentioning. If space was not an issue, why do you think the car failed to sell as much as GM wanted?
