Default What's the widest tire I can fit on a 18 x 9.5 rim

I was wondering if 315s are too much, or if I should stick w/ 295s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

295/35R18

or

315/30R18

or

If you have any other recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them. These will be Drag Radials going on C5 Y2k rims.

Also, what's the best DR out there?

I would think the 315s would be too wide... need an 18x10.5 for those. The 295s should fit perfect though. That's what I have on my 18s (OEM Z06 wheels)

You can put a Nitto 315 DR on there as they run a little small in terms of width.

Bets DR in terms of all out performance is MT, but for a daily driver the Nitto will hook decent and have nice longevity. That's what I run on my daily driver. My .02.

I would not run anything wider than a 295 on that. 275 being optimum. 315's are out of the question just from a safety standpoint. It is possible but NOT safe.

Well I think I'm going to go with the 295s, but now where can I get some MTs?

The Nitto 315 DR is probably narrower than any other 295. People put them on STOCK 03 Cobra rims (17x9) all the time.

Whidbey Island. It's what the squids out here refer to it as. Sort of like Alcatraz.

That's really not safe on a 9" rim, and you aren't even benefiting from a bigger contact patch because the tread is just buldging. And they don't make 315 Nittos for an 18" rim by the way.
