Default Almost died last night

No, Ellis didn't come beat me for modding my heads. On my way home from Don's I saw the drunkest driver I've ever seen. I first noticed her as she damn near ***-holed me going thru the intersection just west of the Monroe Fairgrounds on Hwy 2 (I was going 50mph). So then I started watching her....

As we went around that sweeper she was over the centerline. (yeah, cars were coming the other way, it was 6pm). Then she's off on the shoulder. At this point I called her in to 911. The dispatcher asks if this is the white Olds? YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS CAR!!! When I look bakc up she's fumbling with something on the pass seat & climbing up my *** again. Next thing I know she's passing me, half in my lane, with a motorcycle coming at us in the other lane!!! I'm screaming by now, still have the 911 operator on the phone too.

Next she passes a pickup on the shoulder going around a r-hand sweeper with a guard rail on her side. Then she goes into one of her acceleration modes & JUST misses hitting a horse trailer by swerving & making the guy next to her almost wreck. Miraculously she made it all the way to Everett. I followed her across the trestle but lost sight of her....

Anyway, I have one question. I followed her for 10 miles watching her almost wreck at least 20 times (not counting the 20 + running off the road incidents). Where in the Hell were the cops? They knew about her when I called. The operator was on the phone listening to me squeal like a little girl trying not to die. Can there be a higher priority? Maybe she needed to be driving an f-body.....cops are always following them.

We had the same thing happen coming back from the CCCA race in Bremerton. Countless near head ons you every thing you had here.

We saw some cops and pulled over to tell them.

They could have f*(king cared less and were very upset we had the ***** to bother them.

There is something wrong with the police in this state. Far to busy pulling over people for no front plate and could care less about a drunk driver tring to kill people!

That is such a crock of ****. Its scary that they knew about her and didn't do a damn thing. People are bad enough drivers sober, we don't need drunk ones out there too!!

That's some scary **** Mark Did you ask the lady IF they were sending anyone ? It's a miracle she made it into town. I had a similiar thing happen to me in Phoenix when I was on my motorcycle. I ran a 6 way double lane intersection red light to get the f**k away from her since she was right on my ***

You aren't going to like this.......

After talking to three different WSP about this very problem the response was "Its a lot of paperwork. Its easier to write up speeding tickets".

Now this was "off the record" but its true. The paperwork involved is massive and takes WSP's that are thin in one area and sends them on what could be a wild goose chase no matter who is following a drunk driver staying on the phone with 911.
If you follow the person until they park at a residence or business you have a better chance of seeing a cop show up.

Yeah, figured you wouldn't like it.

PS: If you "fib" and tell 911 you think you saw them waving a gun then you are more likely to see half a dozen flashy light cars within a few minutes of calling.

I didn't say that...got it?

That is F'ing BS! Damn! Glad you did not wiped out, and anyone as far as you know.

We called 911 once to report some kids drinking. They asked us to follow them. We had state and county cops there within' 10 minutes. There was a pursuit and the chasing officer ended up withdrawing as the kids were doing over 75mph on sidewalks and bike lanes through a very crowded rush hour traffic area. They later busted the driver based on information we provided.
Not only that, the cops asked us to wait for an officer to come (which promptly happened) and the officer that pusued came to our house to let us know she busted the driver.
Wish you'd had the same response....

Waves at 97TA

That seems strange but not backwards. They are a pita when you want to report a crash but show up for a drunk driver Johnny on the spot?
Maybe we should take a second look at the DOT & LEO's in our state.
Wait, that would be the inept Govenor. Wishful thinking

I've had the same type thing happen. About a year ago, from Gig Harbor across the Narrows Bridge I was on the cell with 911. Couldn't pass the guy, was in a truck and bouncing off the dividers, then on the Narrows Bridge he was hitting the steel protective thing along the side and bouncing off it. Nobody ever showed and in Gig Harbor is the state patrol office. Also, I was on the highway and seen a truck one night with a old fridge and a bunch of crap in the back of a truck. Could tell he was drunk and things were flying out the back when he jerked the wheel or hit the divider. I called 911 again and gave the license # and description, went home, then 1/2 hour later decided to go up pacific to the video store and there is the guy ahead of me hitting curbs and swerving.

Similar experience here, I was told by WSP that they would only respond to a complaint about another driver if it is made when the "issue" is "in progress".

IT AMAZES ME HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE STOIRES LIKE THIS. GET HAMMERD, GET NAILED MY FRIGGIN ***!!!

I seriously thought about running this woman off the road after she almost hit her 3rd car head-on. I was in my truck so....but I figured I'd be the one going to jail over that. I guess if it saved a life it would be worth it. I'm certainly glad I didn't see her hit anyone. I doubt I'd have been very friendly to the locals when they FINALLY got there!

They probably just wanted to see how long they could get a recording of a grown *** man screaming like a girl. lol

That is very amazing to not only hear this story... but so many others.

And Mark, sad thing is..you probably would have gotten in trouble if you had done something like that.

Mark, at least you were making the calculations based on self sacrifice vs. benefit to strangers. Not many folks would even consider it. Next time shoot!
