You can get that car for less than 18k... just talk him down some.

Hell, if I couldn't sell my car for 14k when I tried ('01, 26k miles) I wish that guy luck in selling his for 18k.

Well, it sucks about the car being crashed but since it was never yours, it is not a huge loss at least.....there are tons of late model, low mileage F-Bods out there if you look hard enough, but I wouldn't hold out for a hardtop unless you luck into a Formie or the odd Z28 hardtop. If memory serves, the closer they got to the end of production (2002) the less hardtops there were produced........either way, good luck with your search.

Weird.....I sold my 2000 WS6 (A4) with 34k on it for almost $16k.........took me a while & I thought that was a low price, but I didn't need 2 almost identical cars.

Sounds more like the NBM one at Carson Cars....it is a prior total/wreck/salvage title...and they "only" want $11k for it....33k miles......they seem to keep forgetting to mention that it has been destroyed already though.

And from that link....WTF are "factory headers"????? On an LS1????

If its a 98 they had the funky manifolds that kinda look like headers.... my only guess.

Shocks, springs (which usually lower it), sway bars, adjustable panhard bar, lower control arms, subframe connectors.....the list goes on and on.

Define need. Do they help, yes. Even more so on a lowered car. Will the car fall apart and blow up without. No.

As far as the STB, no idea on 4th gens.

STB's IMHO are not worth it other then for looks...I have never noticed any diff with or without the 2 diff kinds I have had on my car.....now I don't auto-x the car or do any serious curves in it, but I can't se it being NEEDED on a street car.

LCA relocation brackets lower the back end of the LCA after the car itself has been lowered (aftermarket springs) and can also help with traction (launching). My car is lowered about an inch and I have relo brackets, just haven't put em on yet. Hasn't destroyed the car but I know they will help once they are on.

No insurance for the winter? Got insurance for 24 hours? I have never heard of such a thing. Can someone tell me if that is common here? Cuz what happens if someone steals the car during the winter? Is it not covered then? And what company gives 24 hour insurance? I would run a carfax on that sucker AND have a realllllly good mechanic look it over before I paid one penny for it if I were you.

Just my $.02

"dude" I asked because I am not from here and where I lived my whole life (So Cal) people don't generally store cars for the winter. And again I ask, what happens to your brother's "cobra" if it gets stolen? No insurance = no $$ for replacement.

And pardon me for being concerned for you and trying to ask questions & offer suggestions so that you don't get screwed....next time I will just let you go for it and see if happens.
