The shape of things to come...

Theres a couple of points that will need a little clearancing... the steering joint and the passenger side of the "k-brace" right at the frame. Otherwise the LQ4 dropped in once II elongated the motor mount frame holes up and out. The Driveshaft will have to be lengthened about an inch and the C-beam extended about an inch but thats the main fab work required. Interestingly, even moving the tranny forward an inch it'll still have more rear weight bias than stock- the LQ4 is just more compact and sits farther back. I'll look again this morning to se if its feasible to just move the engine back the inch, but I think it'll hit firewall clearance issues. I'm not touching the firewall.
It's only taken me two weeks to get to this point... most of that was locating cheap internet parts and waiting for shipping Still need most of the accessories... but I can begin to sell the old accessories now because I know this will work.

I'm doing corvette accessories so it will have a lot more clearance between the engine and front crossbrace. It looks like and F-body airfilter can be adapted fairly easily as well. I already have the two piece ZO6 oil pan coming.

Did you buy mounts like those offered by S&P or have you fabricated
your own? What are the plans for the exhaust: manifolds or headers?
You can expect a flood of interest in this project from fellow C4 owners.
If you haven't already seen it, there is a fairly extensive thread that
may have some solutions as you move along.

I bought the mounts from ebay and they fit between the stock mounts and the block. They are about 1/4" thick and push the stock mounts a coresponding distance from their proper location. I had to elongate the frame mount holes upward and outward to make it fit. Even still the engine is about an inch forward of the transmission bellhousing so I have an issue to work out there- whether to move the engine back or to move the trans forward.
Currently it is sitting in the bay with ZO6 stock manifolds and it is tight but doable. A little grinding and all will be fine. I have a full ZO6 cat and H pipe piece that I'm dying ot find out if it it'll fit or not. If not I can cut and section it until it does.
Bored with the H2? Never... I just need the "backup car" moving, too.
