Is it the car, or the driver (or both?)
The best run I got of the day... 14.259 @ 102.32 mph.
And on that run, I babied it out of the hole, then hammered it all the way down the track, and I don't think I could have hit the gears faster.
Highest trap speed I had all day was 102.49.
So the question is here... what am I doing wrong, or is there also something wrong with the car? The trap speeds are disturbingly low for a M6 car, I think. As soon as I got home I fired up the Formula and took it out for a drive, and it definitely seems faster.
Here's a comparison between my best time slip from today, and one from the Formula. I would think that the WS6 would gain more on the top end than it appears to be gaining.
WS6
60': 2.303
330: 6.263
1/8: 9.415 @ 79.78 mph
1000: 12.043
E/T: 14.259 @ 102.32 mph
Formula
60': 1.973 (-0.33)
330: 5.690 (-0.573)
1/8: 8.667 @ 83.23 mph (-0.748 / + 3.45 mph)
1000: 11.234 (-0.809)
E/T: 13.392 @ 104.46 mph (-8.867 / +2.14 mph)
I don't know what to think... but it's safe to assume I'm pretty disgusted with the WS6 right now.
That first day I was gonna be happy if I hit 13.9's even but couldn't even muster a 14.0 and left kinda disappointed. Then I had the same goal the next time only to have it hit faster than expected the first run and keep getting better. Keep on truckin!

I was a little uneasy about that. But after some time and finess (aka money), I get her runing relatively decent.
She's too nice of a car to just get rid of so quickly. And I'm betting you'd be pretty pissed to see someone else squeezing good times out of it after you got rid of it.

I think I found the problem

I think if you coulda came outta the hole a little harder and actually ran it hard the whole length of the track it would've done just fine...had the track been better. That right lane was sucking for guys with street tires today. I think that's the root of the problem.

My plan is to dyno it to see if it's delivering the kind of power that it should be... but it's racing career is pretty much over.

I had to launch it at idle.
Too frustrating, I'm going to stick to running a A4. At least a day at the track is fun that way.

On the track, screw being a real man, I want to win.

Don't let it get you down, if anything do those free mods, and hit the track again. Remember it's a 98, correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of those were 14 sec cars?
