They are not even that comfortable on the street either. Being so stiff you feel every crack and crevice in the road. With these tires and koni's and qa1 rod ends I feel one coat of paint on the road. But at 100 mph on a back twisty bumpy road it handles like a dream. Everybody has different likes.

On my Cobra when it was at 420 RWHP they worked fine. They weren't that good once they got past 1500 mile on 'em and they flat SUCKED after I pullied up to 476 RWHP. I had to go to the new MT DR's which were great until MT changed their molding technique, then they SUCKED and shredded. I ended up with Hoosiers 'cause that's all that would hook. That's part of the reason I got rid of the car.

what are you talking about? You considered that mean? It wasn't said that way at all. OR at least thats not how I was saying it. And honestly E man I bought the rII's because you recommended them to me. You, at the time said you ran them on all 4 and was very happy with them. So I bought them and have been very happy since. I guess I didnt realize b-rad wanted a track tire, I thought he was looking for a daily driver. Why is it when I explain myself people take it the wrong way? My explanation above was just to say why I like the tire, thats all. Wasnt trying to show anyone up or anything like that. Sheeesh, I explained my driving style and the way my car is set up so a person could make a comparison, not to argue or insight a riot.. Charlie mine are still relatively new and I'm right on the edge of traction. Not denying your experince at all dont take me the wrong way. Went to the rII's cause the GY f1's were totally useless. I dont get to the track at all, my driving and experience is always street driving too. I dont run a soft side wall becasue I like other things thats all. I know to run good at the track I'd have to change my tires and setup really.

I would just like to toss in just how impressed I Have been with my Nitto 555RIIs!
From drifting and hard cornering(beyound what "I" thought was afe) to 1.8 60Fts in Steph's 13.00 Sec car I would have to say they rock!
I plan on using them as my Street tire on the blue car. 305/35-18s rear and 275/40-17s on the front

I was not upset in any way. Just the way I read it I guess.
I do like the RIIs but have gone by there usfullness at all four corners with my Mear 422FT TQ and 412 RWHP unlocked(probably the same HP as you locked with even more tq). I KNEW Charlie had very usefull experiance with them and many of the other tires mentioned I had driven Charlie's car once or twice to the limits of the tires on the car.
Charlie also put that power to the gruond anyway he could.

Its cool, I didnt think b-rad was pushing near our power either but I could be wrong there as well. My guess is that I'll either be keeping "fresh" rII's on it at my size (275-40x17) they're still less than $200 a peice or be having to move to a bigger (width and height) more expensive tire and wheel. I still want the stiff sidewall though so who knows, its good for now.

ok guys. yes i'm looking for a daily driver tire that is good all around. for the street orhard corners. i have kumho supra 712 on it now and like the tire. but i want to sick with the 285.

Verdad Gallardo I'm running the nitto 275-40-17, rII but they only come in certian sizes. If Ellis has found a better tire maybe you should check it out.

Naw Blanco, I didn't take it wrong and I wasn't pissed or anything. Different tires for different applications. The tire worked at certain power levels for me but then again, I did a whole lotta 1/4 mile stuff on the street. I couldn't get anybody to go play on the auto-X with me.

Hey have you seen the nt-01? I hadnt seen them until last night What are your thoughts? Should it provide better traction than a harder tire or am I reading the whole treadwear rating thing wrong? My thought being the softer the tire the stickier is should be.
