We called up Discount tire and I'm getting a set (all 4) of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 285/40/17's for $208 a piece. They are getting them out of state and will be here next week. That was the best deal we could find for some good tires for me and I can't wait till they get here!

Link for the tires

Not 285/40-17's but I'm goin with a set of 275/40-17 Proxes 4's at schwab... $170/ea on sale right now. Had 245/50-16's of the same tire and they were great even in the snow.

IF Toyo still made a 275(or285)/40-17s T1-S Steph would have gotten them.

The 4s do not look good enough for her car

The Toyo T1-S's are basically the same tires as the GY GS-D3s. Both are VERY good tires, and those are some pretty good prices on either!

Michelin Pilot sports, BFG KD, Nitto R 2 or the latest from Continental, the Zmax or vmax (cant remember exact name of tire). Rated to 225mph and its used on all the new supercars. Tire rack has it.

I just got some Michelin Pilot Sport 315/30/18 for the rear of my car. They look so nice, a little pricey though.

I have a full set of BFG KDs with over half life for sale if you want them.

I have had two different sets now. I WON'T run that tire on my cars again.......Ask Mark why!

Nitto RII's are great for cars under 420 RWHP but not good for any more than that.

Hmmmm, I dont seem to have to much trouble with them. Heat them up and they stick good, drive em cold and they're useless. This is for a DD not the track. Thats my experience with them.

My car isnt that light either and I dont pop the clutch on the street. Personaly I dont care what a person uses on their car, I'm just saying the tire works good for me. If I want to spin them I can with ease, but I dont have any trouble keeping traction when I want either. Lets face it at 420+ rwhp you can lite any street tire up you want if thats what you want to do. This tire lends itself to my driving style very well. Hard cornering, hard acceleration out of the corners without any bullshit. Yes if I drop the clutch with any rpm at the line I can induce tire spin all the way thru the gears if I want but thats not how you get off the line with these tires. Not saying Charlie is wrong here at all so dont get me wrong there. Just saying they work good for me. Dont spin them off the line and they hold well thru the power as long as their warm is my experience. Honestly they are not really for drag racing. The stiff sidewall doesnt flex at all. They are not even that comfortable on the street either. Being so stiff you feel every crack and crevice in the road. With these tires and koni's and qa1 rod ends I feel one coat of paint on the road. But at 100 mph on a back twisty bumpy road it handles like a dream. Everybody has different likes.
