whats the storry with firestone wide oval tires ??

Default whats the storry with firestone wide oval tires ??

so Im shopping for tires for the summer and I came accross these firestone firehawk wide ovals. HELLLLLAAAA cheap 180.00ea for 285-35-zr18 and 136.00ea for 265-40-zr17. anyone have experience or advice on these tires ??

I looked at them for the vette, From what I gathered they are a great all around long lasted DD performance tire. If you want something sticky at the drag strip or autocross look elsewhere. The only thing I really didn't like about them is the tread seemed narrower then the tire so it looked kinda ballooned at least in the 295. I'd spend the extra money and do the Nitto DR's in the back you missed out I just sold a basically new set for 375. (305/35/18's) and the regular 555's up front that is a nice combo and not crazy expensive.

I have no exp with them. I know Firestone has had some problems with a few tire lines recently, but I don't think the Firehawks were part of that. If you still have the turbo on the car, I'd bet they won't have enough traction.....go with the Nittos Bobby suggested.
