Default Line Lock Questions

I finally ordered a line lock for my car (I noticed the rear rotors are showing some pretty good wear now from burnouts). And I figure when I install it I'll flush the brake fluid too. My questions are:

What's the "best" brake fluid to use? I've heard about some issues with water by people using the synthetic. And my car sits a lot. So is the DOT 5 the best route?

And what if any precautions are there? I do not want to screw up the ABS!

Also, does anyone have a power bleeder I can borrow? Or can you even use one on these cars?

My experience with DOT5 was very poor. I tried it in the clutch of a high performance motorcycle and drained and replaced it the same day. It would not take the heat generated by "spirited riding". For a restored car that sits for long periods and generally doesn't see high performance use, I think it would be fine.

Would I use it in a car on the PE130? NO WAY!

When I first discovered open tracking I would go at least once every 2 weeks, at this time I still had stock brakes and was suffering from extreme braking problems. I tried about 5-6 differants brands of brake fluid ( including Valvoline synthetic ) within a 3 month period and REALLY got to see what the differance in performance was under extreme conditions in back to back comparisons. I finally settled on ATE super blue. It's just some flat out good stuff. Motul is slightly better, but at $32 per PINT the ATE is the best bang per $$ out there. If I remember right it's about $16 pint. It just so happens I've still got some un-opened sitting on the shelf .......

Hey Mark you might want to talk to Jason (sardog), I think he was running some super great stuff or something for his clutch? And if my memory serves me I think Fulton 1 has a power bleeder but I don't think he posts much. I don't even know why I think that, it's just in the back of my mind that he has one lol.

I ordered the plug-n-play SLP kit. Not the best, but easy to install.

I actually like that kit. If I were to get one I would probably buy that one too.

I was suprised when I pulled my rear apart that I have minimum wear on my brake pads from having no line lock. It may be the sintered metal pads though, and the rotors look fine. I do still plan on a line lock however, just makes it easier to do a burn out.
