Default Crappy week!

So here I am with so much to do and every time I turn around some thing is holding me back. Weather it is waiting for parts or moving cars to just flat being sick.

SO MY week was going to get started right after dinner. I have a transmission I need to finish so I have room to get a LT1 cam job done so I can get a clutch job finished. No Problems I got lots of time should be able to get it done if I get right to it!

So I go out and get started and quickly figure out I need a part 11 miles away. The toy needs gas and the Blue car is full. We jump in the blue car and head out. Last time at the track the IAC started dieing and totally died earlier this week..$101 later she idles.

Car is Idling Great! We head out and I am happy as can be. I am FINALY going to get some stuff done this week! We turn on to Hiway 2 in Monroe and head up to the Second light...about half way there the car starts bucking like it is in Lock up but it is not. I slide it in Nuetral and give it some gas but it starts breaking up. As we roll up to the red light..in the Center lane in rush hour holiday traffic...the car dies and WON'T restart!!!!

F*&#$!!!!! Steph and I jump out and she getts behind the wheel. I am able to push it into the turn lane. while we are waiting for the light the guy behind us jumps out and helps push it across the intersection into the gas station. VERY NICE!!

We get out and do some Quick Diagnostics. good fuel pressure and a kick *** flame going into the Opti....nothing coming out...F(*&^!!! I just bought this POS!!! $150 for the MSD cap and rotor! DEAD!!

After contacting Mark for the tow Steph and I walk across the street to our favorite lounge and have some Margaritas. Mark comes we load car and go have another one.

Thanks Mark and Linda!

I am going to shoot some thing to MSD now!

Yes, Mark and Linda were kind enough to tow Ellis's car to Snohomish and back to our place. We bought them Drinks, but we owe them a heck of a lot more! They are truly Angels!

When we went to push Ellis's car onto the Trailer, we had a couple friends at the Bar that came with us. It ended up bieng about 6 guys because some guys that were at the gas pumps jumped up to help and some came from the bar, people that we didn't even know! People are Great! I didn't even have to push at all!

But boy I do need a pair of ear plugs if I have to go through that again...

Somedays you just can't win.

Even though Mark's trailer is low I can imagine how hard it was to push your car up that trailer. Makes one realize how mush power your car does have

Mark & Linda have helped many of us.

IT WAS OUR PLEASURE TO HELP YOU GUYS AFTER ALL YOU'VE DONE FOR THE REST OF US, ESPECIALLY US!!!

I have been there more times than I care to remember. The only thing worse than having your car break down is not being able to get any help. I wish I my car was ready for the show & I wasn't "on-call" this morning. I'd be out there helping you bring that bitch back to life.

Damn... that's the type of situation that was the last nail in the coffin on my old 91 truck. Don't give up on Blue, though!

Why is the furious part always the easiest part to get of the fast/furious combo?

Well it WAS the last nail in the coffin for the opti. I am going LTCC. Anyone got a good set of 2003 or later truck coils laying around? I would hate to buy them new but if I have to...

The MSD stuff was really the last hope for me not doing this!

LT1 to LS1 coil conversion

http://www.bailey-eng.com/LTCC.html

Here is the other option. I will be using the cover/cap replacement from them

You ever think of using a Delteq system? I think its a bit more robust than Baileys gig, the Delteq system uses a NorthStar coil pak. Its easier to mount and comes with mounting brackets where as the other you have to figure out how and where to mount the coil paks.

Yup I have Only place I can think of to mount coils is under the engine. I do like the Deltec but it also lack a few fetures I will need while replacing my MSD system at present.

I will be getting one of them this week. I am leaning towards the LTCC at the moment unless I can figure out how the get the Delteq with a MSD box for less

I hate it when that **** happens! Nothing can be more frustrating to a mechanic I'm sure. Get other peoples stuff running tip top and your own stuff breaks down. Good to have friends though, true friends come through when you need them.

The optispark, IMO, is the biggest downfall for the LT1, otherwise its a great engine, and I would probably have one of them in my truck instead of a L98

One of my buddies has a nice forged/procharged LT1 mullet. He went to Coil On Plug about a year ago after years of the usual opti problems and wishes he would have sooner. He loves it.

Damn Ellis, you told me this on the phone earlier but I still feel for ya. I was there a year ago with that F*@KING OPTI! I'm sure ol' blue will be better than new when you're done with her.

Eric which system did he go with?

Thanks every one. I do like the Deltaq but it is almost twice the price after you add in the MSD DIS-4 to control it I will be ordering SOME THING by the end of the week. If I could find a good set of Coils cheap local the LTCC would be done!
