WELCOME! Sound off Say Hello

Hi Eric, I just couldn't sell her. Whenever I was about to place an ad on the paper or on Auto Trader, I managed talk myself out of it. In the past it was just so easy to buy a new TA...... well, now that they are gone I can not think of any other car as a garage queen.

Hey all, I'm not new to LS1tech, but I am new to the NW. I moved here from Kansas in January. Not a whole lot of money to spend on the car right now as I'm buying a garage with an attached house at the end of the month.
I'm planning on doing some suspension/handling mods soons since I hit my goal of getting into the 12s last October.

Welcome Ack! Thanks for bring all this rain with you. It's normally sunny up here year round. I know what you mean about the garage. That House option on it really tends to drive the price up.

Are LT1's still welcome? I feel so outdated.

11's would be sweet but expensive! I'm just keeping it stock for now...though its in the shop for a new harness (see rat bastard chewed through all wiring response on "In the shop"). We might do a little mod work but not much on this stock 93 LT1 m6 or so I keep telling my BANK ACCOUNT. lol
User name is plate name so I may have run into some of you in the last few years, I don't hestitate to ask when I see an LT or LS - sorry if I shied from the TA's, they are an...aquired taste (or tasty, depending).
I'm here for the "refresher course" for the most part. Used to run in NC waaaaaaaaaay too long ago and like the name, did all my own work. Now I look at the 3rd & 4th gen engines like I'm about to be Roadkill
Previous semi pro-stock racers:
70' RoadRunner
71' Superbee
69' Shelby
68' AMX m4, 390 sb bored out .30 blueprinted and balanced with BW superT. I kept the baby moons for grins and giggles.
Now I'm on the hunt again for another 68' AMX to mod and track again - its going to take time (uh, my body isn't quite what it used to be) though finding em' are pretty easy down the Detroit belt. Just need to get used to all the 'new' stuff so to speak. BTW, who would chrome the heads on my LT1? wait, don't answer that...please!
So forgive this ol' codger if I throw out stupid questions, some things have never changed, some things are
Salutations all and hope to meet up at some of the weekend gatherings this summer

Another old fart in the bunch...ahem, I mean old school guy. Cool. There are a few of us that are going thru our second childhood thanks to these new GM cars. And a few more of us that never quit. And then there are a bunch of young guns that have fallen in lust with the new American muscle. A nice blend in this bunch really. We have lots of fun....look forward to meeting you.
And I'm all red & white, nose to tail. Just ask Eric the Gator (aka rammit). No amount of time can wash away the commitment, & no other team can ever replace the Big Red!

After a year of living in Idaho I'm on my way back to the NW(Bellingham) until April when I'll be going to Wyotech in Sacramento. In the meantime I've been reading up on LS1 tech and have decided to do the unthinkable. I am putting together a plan to swap in a carburated LS1 with and aftermarket cam and stock heads. If I use as many used parts as possible I should have a rocking all aluminum engine putting out 450+hp for no more than $2,500.
As for my history with cars, I have a 1970 Camaro with a 355 sbc and stock Vortec heads. All the rest of the important info is in my signature. Before I run off and do my engine swap I hope to make as many race dates as I can starting three weeks from now and put my car into the 12s where it belongs.
I've met a few of you already. I've met Ellis and Ryan. I actually had the priveledge to stand in Ryan's garage right before he had his SS running. Sweet to be able to keep up with the progress while I've been away. Now maybe I'll see it in person.
