I like poly everything but you will hear more noise threw it. It's not much noisier though.

Ordered an Energy Suspension and will do the bump mod to it. An oem mount is $85 and the ES was less than half that so I'll try it out and see.

Apparently there are pre-load bumps and a plate that you negate to reduce noise. Been seeing it in the forum.

I was running the stock mount, until I THOUGHT I broke it. Turned out the nut just fell off. I'm running the ES poly mount now & I HATE it! There is a little more noise, but it's the vibration I can't stand. It feels like the tranny is going to fall out. I'm going back to the stocker....

I have been told by more then one person that the poly engine mount(s) is a great mod to do.....but combining it with a poly trans mount seems to make the car unbearable to drive (noise, vibrations, etc). If you are doing any kinda daily driving I would forgo the poly trans mount IMHO.

I put it on the Z @ like 40K and the car is probably around 70K now and no complaints by me or Brian.

One more note - IF you do the trans mount, from what I understand you better also have the poly motor mounts or you risk breaking the tail shaft on the tranny.

I have a poly engine mount. I am aware of the vibration but its 1/3 the price of an OEM one so I'm gonna give it a try. You can shave down the bumps on it and not use the pre-load plate and its supposed to take all the harshness away. I'll try it and see what I find. Right now I pro'lly get about 1/2 to 1 inch of movement sometimes. It honestly effects me hitting gears some times. ( I think).

I've got poly motor mounts and transmission mount... So far, no problems with them. I do get more vibration than what I got before them. But then again, my engine doesn't rock back and forth, and the shifter doesn't jump two inches to the right when I stomp on it anymore, either.

There's a trade off for everything... for what I use the car for, the the mount is fine. I think if I had an A4 though, I probably wouldn't get one... I don't see a benefit to it with an auto. But anyone with an M6 will tell you, it sucks when that shifter rocks back and forth on you, and it does help with making your shifts more steady when you're shifting hard.

Doing those things will change the pinion and TQ arm angles

I added a stop to my stock one(I forgot till you mentioned it) and there is very little movment.

I have removed over 30 Poly mounts in many different cars people installed because they thought some thing was wrong with there car. Only to find out they inflicted the damage upon them selves

Heck I think Ryan is still running a stock Mount AND TQ arm

Had a poly tranny mount once, for about 15 minutes.

Poly motor mounts = Good To Go

Poly trans mount = POS mod.

And yes Ellis, Stock trans mount, Stock TQ Arm (Poly TQ arm mount though).

Well WTF now I need to do something. I suppose I can go with the ES, its still cheaper and if I dont like it get an OEM. I'll check out the thickness and measure it all up. I think E man pro'lly knows a thing or two about pinion angle
I added a stop to my stock one

I did all three mounts, and I can tell ya IMHO Ryan's summaration is about perfect, in fact, I bought a stocker from a member, should be on in a few days...it's noiser, transfers WAY more vibration and I don't race so I am thinkin WTF did I buy this for, will have a new ES Poly Trans mount with 5k or less on it if anyone needs

Well I'm only using one poly motor mount. I have solid bushing lca's so there is a certain amount of for lack of a better word discomfort I'm willing to live with. So I'll check it out and see. To bad your not local top and ready to swap it tomorrow, i'd be all over it. I need it for the track friday night. So I'll get a good feel for it on the way down there and back. If I dont like it then I'll spend the big bucks on the OEM one and get more details from Ellis on his mod for it.
