BADBIRD gets Andro-laced bird seed.... Well, it finally happened. The '97 T/A that ate THREE "fully built" 10-bolts with a stock LT1 finally gave up the ghost.
230,000 miles with the stock opti.... good bye head gasket.
She still runs, poorly, but it's enough to get her to Monroe after an oil change.
So here's a look at what Ellis is helping me cook up:
Victory Racing Engines (VRE) 396ci LT1 Racer Series Short Block
- Compstar 3.875" Stroke 4340 Crankshaft - dual keyways
- Compstar 6.000" H-Beam Rods
- SRP -5cc Flat Top Pistons
- Mahle Rings
- Clevite Rod Bearings
- Clevite Main Bearings - coated
- Clevite Cam Bearings - coated
- ARP Main Studs
- Blueprint/balance/assemble
- Callies 4-bolt splayed caps
- Hard-Blok to the bottom of the freeze plugs

- ATI LT1 Super Damper - BBC outer diameter, dual key way

ARP stainless 12-pt motor mount bolt set

Canton 15-242T 7.5" oil pan (baffles, scraper, oil level sensor, windage)
Canton 20-013 oil pickup for stock oil pump.
Currently installed on the BadBird:
CSR Billet Aluminum Electric Water Pump (200 miles) – mounted in a nicely sanded and painted housing.
Goodyear Super Hi-Miler Hose Kit (200 miles) – love the blue hosing.
24# LS1 injectors (80,000 miles) ... gonna need 36#'s I think
LT4 knock sensor
Moser 12-bolt, 3-channel ABS, 33-spline, Eaton HD Posi, girdle, etc… loaded.
McLeod Street Twin clutch w/steel flywheel
Spohn Adjustable Torque Arm (5,000 miles) - ripped the stock one off the Moser when a bolt rattled out. :/
Koni shocks
36mm / 21mm hollow sway bars w/poly.
Kenny Brown DD SFC's

Don't worry about Ellis, he's a pro at multi-tasking... and I have a feeling my short block won't be delivered for at least 2 weeks. (VRE shut down for 1 week during the holidays
