Default Time to Pick a Date

For the Pacific Raceways Proformance Driving School. Since April 10th is SO close to my b-day, that's the day I'm going with. (in case anyone cares to join me)

I'll shoot for 4/10 as well.

I need new tires before then, and I'm using my tax return to buy some new Fikse FM/10 wheels with GS-D3s. They take 4-6 weeks from order placement, and I won't have the cash to place the order for about 2 weeks, so getting them by 4/10 will be cutting it close. I'll wait 'till Fikse can confirm a delivery date before I lock in my registration.

I might make it down in one of my cars or with friends that are racing.

Where are you getting your Fikse's from and what size and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Direct from Fikse. They're right here in Kent and have office hours where you can drive up and get measured and quoted right there. If they do the measurements your fitment is guaranteed. 6851 S. 220th. 8am-4:30pm M-F. Their office is all the way around the far(south) side of the 4 building office complex.

GTO wheels are a 5x120 bolt pattern, FM/10, Technipolish(that's the basic finish). I'm going with 17x8.5 +38 up front and 17x9.5 +44 in back. Tires will be Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 255/45/17 in front and 285/40/17 in back. They also mount and balance the tires for me. Wheel weight will be ~17lb for the front and ~18lb for the rear. (stock wheels are 26.5lb) I chose the FM/10 precisely because it is their lightest weight wheel.

I'm not sure if it's cool to post the $ since there are sponsors who may supply wheels. PM me if you really want to know. I will say that this is hands down the most expensive mod I've ever done. Mr. Tax-man was good to me this year.

Fiskes = $$$, but they are sweet wheels. And you will like those F1s. They are very nice tires. I want to get me a set ot 315s for the rear just for this session if I can swing it. Otherwise I'll have to run my Nittos.

Oh, and mine is the 9th.

Hey my birthday is 4/13 We should have a party ! Maybe I'll come down to watch and video you Mark ?! I've got a bunch of video from when Boyce took the class, and a bunch of in-car stuff since I ran my WS6 that same day. The in-car vid is really helpful to have since you can watch it later when the adrenaline quits flowing haha !

I would like to go but I won't have the bar installed by then. How much is it to use a track car? (or a link would work too)

It looks like $795 for the course and use of the course car. I might be able to save up a few dollars for this by then.

4125 wholey crap Mark just noticed your weight, why so heavy ?? I was pondering how 3500 to 3600 was going to be quite high for when I add the roll cage and intercooler. Im at 3400 as is with a half tank of gas without me in it. hopefully I will be able to afford to show up to this April 10th shindig after the build is done, I might be broke for a while. like a couple years maybe.

Is that for a Lotus or an economy car?

No, it's an extra $300 for the Lotus. It would be nice but I won't be able to muster up $1100 by April. I'll be doing well to get enough to use the track car.

You can run a vert at the school. It just needs to have some sort of factory protection. I asked him specifically about the Corvette(no roll bar) and he said the windshield frame actually meets the spec for most GM verts. You should e-mail them to verify, but I bet you can run yours just fine.

With all the birthdays that week maybe we should have a birthday dinner after the track day is over? Caravan to Red Robin?

Tis true Guy, my car is the pig of the bunch. To begin with, WS6s are the heaviest of the breed. Add to that an iron block(80lbs), the blower kit (~100lbs), the 9" (100lbs), the roll bar (100+lbs), all the suspension upgrades (50lbs) and it becomes a Jenny Craig poster child pretty quick.

I didn't get a chance to call yesterday.....today with any luck.

I'm trying to swap days off with someone at work and look into using the 'vert as is on the course. If I can get the time off of work I will be there one way or the other this year. I have a few extra spending dollars I get to play with from my new job.
