Default Yippy Skippy Top Ten

After a crummy azz night, a little better. Man it's like I forgot how to shift. kept missing gears, no grinding, but think I am trying to hard?

Not bad, that's nothing to sneeze at. How many runs did you get at PR, 1 or 2?

I guess you didn't get to spray it?

More to come, wait till I start spraying it, and big, hehehe. Just bump your jets up a little.

Robert

I'm expecting alot more from you before the year is out

as far as jetting mine up,
I don't think my fuel system is ready for that just yet,

I plan on picking up a Nitrous Outlet Dedicated Fuel Systems, GTO:

then I can "jet up" another 50hp

I don't know what's up yet. after I got my car back I can not get it to shift with any speed what so ever. the 3 years prior to getting it back, i missed one shift. Now, the first time out, missed, or rather couldn't get it to go into 3rd gear, two times in a row. then last run was real slow deliberate shifts.
Then second time out, same thing, can't get it to go into gear. The last run I posted was shifting like it was a truck top loader (like .5 between shifts). Might have a bent clutch disc? or? I am going to talk to George. I'll try changing out the fluid this weekend. damn, it's always something.

Putting yours on the bottle, I can't get close to that, as i will be lucky to hit a 9.99.

New best tonight... there's more in it with a tune, too..

'98 Formula
12.776 @ 107.67 mph
60': 1.862

Mods: LTs, catted Y, Yank SS3200, 3.42, DRs, catback

So it looks like I picked up ~2 mph from the headers. Car desparately needs a tune, and I think it will hit 12.6 or possibly even 12.5 once it's dialed in. It's cutting out at the top of 2nd gear, hesitates on the shift.

Man, it sounds awesome at WOT, though.. I'm loving this exhaust.

Well here's my new time, thanks to Robert for letting me try your ET Streets. They felt REAL good off the line, but at high speed they were shakin like crazy, so I lifted early...

60' 1.693
1/8 7.175
MPH 101.75
1/4 11.072
MPH 120.75

My setup is now 9-10 psi. Thanks!
Chris i did a couple freeway pulls logging, and noticed the shaking you were talking about. You should have stayed in it, and got that 10.xx slip. It's nothing, they were never balanced because i don't want to screw the rims, so they turn a bit on each pass. you do have some good track senses thought to notice this with so much other stuff we have to keep an eye on. Next time... or have you got it done down there?
That 1/8 mile time/mph was a ten'er for sure. Get that 60 down and your a deep 10 car.
Robert

Yeah that makes sense. Next time... It must have been some good freeway logging!

We are packing up to leave Saturday morning for Sacramento. Planning for some TnT on Wed and/or Fri down there with me and my older brothers modded Evo. I'll be wearing the BFG's and the 10's are almost guaranteed! I will post the results 4 sure.

I think so. i have the 150 jets in 1st stage, and 100 in the 2nd, we'll see if i can use one or both, time will tell. Going to bremy sat for sure, if weather holds out. Not to many dates left. The issue i am having now is, the DC drops to allmost zilch, on each shift at 63xxrpm, then comes back and flashes to limiter. It only lasts micro seconds but causeing it to go to the limiter is the problem (don't want fuel cut-off spraying).
You going to be able to make it this year?

Chris, let us know how it goes.
Robert

Update please.
1.627, 11.46 @ 104.94
Man this beast is going to be hard to hook up. Finally got things starting to go my way. However, spun to a crappy 60, but a new best 1/8 mph, anyway was all over the track and never even got into 4th gear before bailing. But that's how I like it, if your not pedaling and steering your not having fun. Tomorrow, we'll see if we can't get a full pass, one day soon. The 1/8 mph should have been good for an easy mid 10.xx, and if one of my low 1.5x, well who knows.
Good times as usual, with good people.
Robert
