Will have to look at some of those bikes. I know they seem around 4k range tops for what looks like the starter bikes. Plenty of roads that I know of that I figure I could learn on, with the wife standing by incase of a mishap of course!

Wouldn't mind eventaully moving up to the serious performance, but just takes learning and training. Will have to look into the state course that could be available you mentioned Rott. My dad wiped out on one of the crotch rocket bikes with my mom when I was little, he always tells me when I get one to be careful and take a course on learning them, he was use to riding road bikes and so he tried to take a corner at something like 100+ mph with one, he wiped out and thought he killed my mom at the same time when he came to. He tells me he remembers getting that bad feeling in his stomach he just killed her and he yelled "Brenda..." and he got a response back right after he said that, "I told you to slow down!!!"

He says he might now have the confidence to get back on one and learn but is scary to wipe out like he did. Maybe if I get one he will get one with me!

Those guys are nuts. Could you imagine having the skill to do wheelie's around a corner or two burn the tire around a corner like they do? Its one thing to do it in a car...........but on two wheels.

Love Bikes...

First is a guy that installed a Rotex 7 cy aircraft engine on his ride.
Second, The're making Norton's again. 953 cc and light as a feather.
Third; My 69 Notron fastback. Let's face it, you haven't lived until you've
had a British Bike's chain oiler puke oil all over the back of you're leathers
Fourth; Twin turbo 426 hemi drag bike. You've gotta be kidding.
Fifth; A rocket powered drag bike.....That's insane.

That's a nice looking bike, and the red stripes are perfect with the black.

Thanks Robert! It's getting a new end can, 520 chain conversion (-1F, +3R), and new rubber soon too. The bike has come a LONG way since I picked it up last spring as a 'non runner'.

A 2000 Suzuki Katana 600

MODS a few scratches in paint from dropping it, damn gravel!

Thinking about upgrading to a SV1000S nothing like the torque of a V twin.

I see on KIRO now that the state patrol is going to start impounding bikes when they stop riders for infractions & they do not have the motorcycle endorsement. This is their response to the guy that killed himself on I 90 the other night.

I ask, what difference would this make if you are doing 150mph & run into the back of an SUV? It's like being run over in a cross walk with the walk light on. Anyone can go pass the test, but it won't make you smarter. If you ride like an idiot (front tire off the ground, going over 100 mph in traffic) you're still going to die, license or not.

Maybe what they need to so is close down all the race tracks so that this deviant kind of behavior is curtailed.

As a former & future rider, I am glad they are taking more action against unlicensed (not endorsed) riders. Those guys (as well as the morons doing wheelies on the freeway, etc) are giving those of us who ride for fun and don't act the fool, a bad name, raising our insurance, etc.........this is no different then impounding the car of an unlicensed or a driver with a suspended driver's license. Anyone who is not properly licensed to ride/drive/whatever should not have the ability to do so IMHO.

Got some mods installed on the bike last weekend.

-New Michelin Pilot Powers
-New 520 Chain/Sprocket Conversion (-1F, +2R)
-Yoshimura RS3 exhaust
-Re-adjusted my EXUP valve to specs

Wow! That's about all I can say from the mods. What a difference in the way the bike behaves. Between the new gearing and the Yosh pipe, it's a whole new animal!!

Robert, didn't you do some things to your bike awhile back?

Glad you are enjoying the new found spirit of the bike. I got a call today from Kaid (my boss) and he told me to go for a bike ride since it is nice weather and I'm out sick.
