Default Dropping fuel pressure.....need help!

My fuel pressure drops from 62psi to mid 40's then sometimes only to 50psi under hard acceleration.

This just started happening. Is that alright? I have the racetronix upgraded fuel pump. This never used to happen and I can't pinpoint what's causing it.

I'm worried that when I spray my nitrous it'll be more of an issue.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

You sure it hasn't been doing it all along and you just haven't noticed? On the big end mine is down to about 50#'s...give or take. Kinda hard to watch it when running hard. Or is this when you're n/a?

That was N/A...........Off the nitrous!

I'm going to double check it on the way home and see if it wasn't a freak thing

Spray the bitch and find out if there are problems... if something goes BOOM, that means just put in something bigger and badder!

Fuel pump would be the first place to look, it getting good voltage?

lmao

In my last dyno pull the fuel psi goes from 62-57 psi but holds AFR just fine. Fuel filter? I dunno dude but I hope your fuel pump is easier to change than mine!

I checked on the way home from work and the pressure seems to drop steady between 50 psi and 40 psi......and that's off the spray. I'm not going to be able to race till I get this figured out. It may be the gauge and not a fuel issue, but better safe than sorry.

Any suggestions????

If it's not the gauge or filter, then like I have suggested a return and reg at the rails. Mine holds steady at 60psi even on the big hits, never has waviered. Have you ever run the gauge while spraying? or you said it just happened out of the blue?

It has been fine with little to no change in fuel pressure under WOT. And today all of a sudden it starts to freak out and go from 60psi to 0psi. I had an empty tank of gas at the time, so I put 5 gallons in it and then it would go from 60psi to between 40-50psi under WOT. It hasn't gone to 0 since I put gas in it. I checked the lines and there isn't any leaks. It has to be a fuel issue of some kind.

I'm not going to spray with that big of a fuel pressure drop under N/A conditions. Which means it may be a while till I hit 10's. And I have 2 full 10lb bottles of juice in my house awaiting the chance to hit the elusive 10.XX.

It seems to be okay from what I can tell. right between 13.0 to 17.0 when I let off th gas.

Every time I let off the gas it goes way lean..........which I hear is normal.

I'm thinking I should put a bottle of juice in and run it down the freeway to see what happens to the A/F/.....

What do you guys think? Is that a bad idea?

I just upgraded it. Not hard to do IMO! It was relatively easy. But since my pump is a year old, it should be okay!!

Could it be a bad fuel pressure regulator?

I'll try that! It started to happen when I went way way empty. And it got better when I added just under a 1/4 tank of gas. I'll try filling it up past 1/2 tank and see what happens.

Thanks.

Depending on how things go, I may make it out Saturday......we'll see.

Just filled my car up to 3/4 of a tank and under WOT N/A my fuel pressure drops to about 52psi.

Does this happen to anyone else? Should I be concerned? I'm thinking of heading to Bremerton tomorow and see if the car will be okay. I'm going to run down the fuel and put some race gas in to be safe, but I'm still worried!
