When you get back, you can get a 3 day permit. Is pretty cheap.

I don't know what the regs are now on military out of state - used to be you didn't have to renew as long as you had your base stickers on (yea, that was a long time ago).

We just realized our tabs were expired in May, when getting the new sticker they said it was the 1st of the month to replace unless you are deployed. If your wife has a copy of your deploy papers (DD842) she can get the stickers at front post and you can get the registration up to date later.

Have her call and check with your units pencil pusher, they can usually help (or FRGL, either one).

i would look at the laws in oregon reguarding emissions, front plates, tint things like that. compare the two pick the better one and register it there. im pretty sure that every state can be registered online. most dmvs dont require the original copy so just go to your s-1 and get a new poa and fax it, if you dont have access to a fax machine then take a pic of it with a digital camera and email it. or just do it online, thats where i did mine.

If your car is registered outside of Washington state, I'm fairly certain you will have to go through the Washington state Highway Patrol for inspection before it can be registered in Wa. They check the VIN tags, chassis identification etc..

I'd say a trip permit, as mentioned before, is probably your best option.

if your tags are good then their good there is no grey area. they have to let you on post if they are good. you said they expire a month after you get back, then you should be fine. when you get back there will be somany people going in and out they will prob only look for the post decal. it they wont for some stupid reason then like posted above go get a three day pass. oh just a quick question though im trying to get to lewis and i was wondering if you know when your next deployment is going to be?
