Default Damn dog

Well the short of the long is my dog jake ( newfoundland) was puking his brains out everwhere for a day or two all over the house so I knew something bad was wrong. Take him to the vet and they do an xray and see what looks like a turkey baster blocking him up. To big to scope so they had to do surgery and sure enough they removed a turkey baster from his tummy. Cost me 2/3's of a super charger but we didnt even think twice about it. He's family. surgery went good, he'll be fine.

I leave for reggae tomorrrow, remember if anyone makes it down I've already got beers on ice and we run a BBQ food booth

20 miles north of Eugene http://nwworldreggae.com/ is the link

Yeah man, glad you found the problem and that he's doing well. I hear all these horror stories about people with pets, and how they're paying vet bills in the thousands of dollars. It's pretty crazy!

Glad to hear the pooch is ok. Weirdness though, but I have seen my dogs eat some unusual stuff, so I guess it isn't that weird...........and my last Rottie was named Jake too.

You can get animal health insurance pretty cheaply these days that covers most everything.

Thx guys, just got back a few minutes ago and then it took ten minutes for him to stop licking my face. He's doing as good as can be expected for all that he's been through, just starting to get his appetite back.

The turkey baster made it through ok as well, its whole, he didnt even chew it just gulped it down. Its pink now though and I think it was yellow to start.

Rott thats not a bad idea, I laughed at it when I first heard about it now that I have some persepective on it, it all makes sense perfect sense... lol

#1 reason I wont have pets. I kind of look at it this way. If I paid 300.00 for a pure bred some-thing-or-other that likes to eat poop and it gets sick and the bill exceeds the original investment into the animal, it becomes "insolvent" and its time to let it go.

Wow that makes my $150 to take our german shepherd to the vet to have an infected broken claw cut out seem minimal lol. But we just got dog med insurance for him too, think it's like $12/mo or somethin from petco.

Glad he made it through ok!

Here's our dog:

Yeah, no pets for me. Mainly because I just dont have the time to give them and I live in a tiny *** appartment. I am hardly ever at home so it isnt fair to an animal to be cooped up all day (and night sometimes).

300 won't get ya much for a purebred anything. I wouldn't think twice about any kind of operation for my dogs. They are family.

Here's the latest pix of my crazy assed puppy.

Nice pics guys, beautiful GS hitman and thats some good air rokko! I'll post up a pick of now and then when I get a chance. Crazy pet groomer told me she had to shave him to get the matts out, I let her. Never again. Dog was humiliated over it, you could just tell.

that sucks but good to hear all is well. My dog Rosco did the same thing at 8 weeks he swallowed a hose clamp. 1,200.00 later we got him back with a scar on his belly. he only cost us like 300.00 (pure bred red nosed american pit bull) but the vette bills killed us. now Molly just picked up a girlfriend for Rosco named her Lola. she is a double registered blue nose american Pit with prestigious bloodlines (worth 2,500.00) but we got her for 900.00. I will **** a brick if she does something stupud like that. anyhow good times with the pet storys. someone should start a thread for everybody to post pics of their pets/family members. ~Guy
