Ok I was board enough to try and figure out the number of feet per second it was traveling to guess what MPh and I came up with 50mph.

That's a 1997 F150.

The new generation started in 04 (same as 07/08). The new gen is 5-star in all crash tests.

Yeah, just a little better LOL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LkAzt_0qIg
But damn you would think the 97 would do a lot better, being a truck and all...

That second one is actually quite a lot better. Notice how the passenger compartment holds its shape. That's exactly what you want to have happen. The first one had major deformation of the passenger compartment...not good at all.

That second one is a 5-star wreck. That's exactly how it's supposed to happen. Passenger compartment is not compromised.

Didn't even break the windshield.

Wow that 97 looks like a deathtrap. I checked the www.safecar.gov site and it's rated 4 star for driver and 5 star for passenger.......

You should see the front end crash test pictures of a 1960 VW Beetle at 50 mph. Tiny car built like a beer can, no crumple zones, and a non-collapsible steering column.... guaranteed fatality. The driver's head was basically skewered by the steering column as it was driven completely through the car.

Scary ****.

And people think I'm exaggerating when I tell them my Bus would turn them into a hood ornament. The first 2 cars were completely flattened. Great footage.

Yeah, but you have to consider that it's also a Citroen 2CV and a Renault LeCar, which weren't exactly known for their sturdy construction.

True enough. It reminds me of the Top Gear episode when they drove a Citroen 2cv behind a 747 under full power.
