Default CAn I USe a Cobra transmision in a camaro?

My qwestion is can i use the tremic 6 speed cobra transmission in my 00 ss cAn you fit the shifter in the console is it the same location and will i haft to get a different bell housing?

You could take all the guts out of the Cobra one and put it in your current box, keeping your current input shaft. I'm sure the bellhousing will be different, the input shaft won't have the correct splines for your current clutch, and I'm not sure, but I suspect that the Cobra transmission to bellhousing pattern is different than an f-body transmission to bellhousing pattern. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

....and I believe the gear ratio is differnet (those Snake motors aint got the grunt an LS1 does so they need help down low)

Actually the cars that came with a 6 spd (03-04) are the blown cars so........

Yup all the "snakes" that had 6spds had blowers with different 5th and 6th gear ratio's. Even with a blower they could not get the TQ to pull down 6th gear like a big boy engine
