After trying everything I can think if, I still have an interference with the ABS sensor. The 1st pic shows where the ABS sensor used to hit the gas tank at stock ride height vs where it hits now with the rear end at the lowering spring position. The last pic shows that it would fit without the ABS sensor installed.

I have -3* of pinion angle vs the tranny pan & drive shaft which I believe is the max you want to run. I tried moving the gas tank. I re-did the cross member hole. Thought about trying adj LCAs, but that would move the bottom forward, not the top. Out of ideas. Waiting for word from Moser....oh, and the DS fits Chad.

Mark, Time to pull out the Dead blow (BFH mod the tank, it'll be fine...)

Use a BFH on a plastic tank? I've thought about "forming" the tank somehow....but it's full of C16 race gas & heating it up doesn't excite me for some reason. And I would guess it would have to get pretty hot for any bending / denting to be permanent. Have you done it Ryan?

Disregard!

I didn't realize that was a plastic tank I was looking at. Poo! (You could pump it out and hit it with a heat gun)

step one: Take stock tank and fuel system out

Step two: sell current fuel system and stock tank

Step three: Buy fuel cell and bigger fuel system

Step four: Be happy you just bypassed 2008 mods into 2009 mods! Your ahead of the game.

PS:
You know you want a fuel cell all the other cool show cars are doing it.

Not an option Aaron. The M9 broke the bank, and I still gotta get the roll cage installed, get the tube front end aligned & replace the windshield....gotta make this work. Not to mention I don't need a bigger fuel system than the one I just bought (good to 1100rwhp).

man this sucks. bettor to weld/heat witha full tank than an empty one. its under teh same reason why they weld natural gas lines with gas flowing through them but goo dluck sice all that fluid will dissapte heat fast as hell. maybe u in a new drian teh tank and dremel out what u need to and fiber glass in a "relief". could use a cut piece of pvc to mock it all up. dunno if that helps out at all

I feel for you buddy and I do get that spend more money is not the answer for you looking for. I am betting that between Dan, Ellis, Ryan, Don and yourself somebody going to find a fix.

It is a hot looking rear end.

Why dont you just take out the ABS sensor until you have the money or means to be able to fix it. Simple, cheap, and gets the job done. Who needs abs anyways???

I took mine out, along with traction control. Just put a peace of black tape over your dash light so it won't remind you..

At the moment the only way I can drive the car is with stock springs & no ABS sensor.....kind of defeats the reason I bought it ---> tucking my fat tires in the fenders with it lowered & having ABS for road races.

So far I've seen 4 write-ups where these were installed into F-bodies. The 2 guys with fuel cells had no problems & the 2 with stock tanks had problems.

Drain the tank and use a heat gun, its not going to get any where hot enough to have a fire problem.

That is what I was thinking Ryan. I have a heat gun, I just need to get something to make the right shape like a curved body shaping anvil (or whatever they are called). Maybe one of my dumbells would work....ha ha, a dumbell, that's good, maybe I should use my head.

I just got off the phone with Ron @ Moser Engineering. He wants a link to this thread so they can look at the pics & see what they think. He told me they are VERY motivated to fix this so other people don't have this problem. SWEET! Thanks for the call Ron!!!

Hey mark i think forming that tank will be a bitch. might be easier to get a metal junk yard tank and form it. I think if i remember correctly that the stock tank is pretty thick plastic and you would have to get it pretty hot to get it to hold shape. But good luck to you withever you try to do. If it were me i would just build in a new fill plug and shitcan the abs but that is me Race cars don't need brakes.......just parachutes.
