I do like the idea of another holding tank though, that would give me more air before having to wait for air. That darn homedepot one is $470 delivered to
You don't have a home depot close by to get one for $399?

Hehehe, no one local to me with a pick. I bit the bullet and paid for delivery. Renting a pick-up would have been $70 plus gas. Sometimes you just have to pay da man..LOL I even told my wife I bought it

I just tossed a Quincy 80gal, horizontal, climate control, screw, 480vac was about 10 years old. Seems like I find one to replace once a year. Kills me when I have to toss a $5k air compressor that only needs $500-1000 to make it work again. If anyone wants these speak up and Ill keep you in mind when I find another one.

I have a 60 gallon husky single cylinder 220V air compressor. I've had it for about 5 years and haven't had any problems with it.

I sprayed in a truck bed liner with it, run my small blast cabinet, as well as my portable sand blaster that I used to sand blast the entire frame of my pickup with. So I've put it through some pretty good work, and it's still chugging along. It does work pretty hard when I'm using the portable sand blaster (40lb unit from HF). I think it only runs up to 125ish psi though.

I think if this one dies on me I'd get this one

I read a lot of complaints about the Sears Pro unit. I was thinking that would be the easy way out but there are a lot of complaints about it.

If it doesn't have a cast iron casing I wouldn't consider it, it won't last. Most craftsman are aluminum.

Quincy is a great compressor as is Curtis, both industrial grade. I have a curtis and it's a work horse. I wish it was bigger now, but it does a killer job. It's been through 1000 throttle bodies and more sand blasting and powdercoating than I care to remember.

This is the one I have....

x2

Stay away from aluminum compressors and don't even consider a single stage. Dual stage, 175 pound air is the only way to go. 175 pound pressure has about 10 times the energy than 110 pounds.

I have an ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold cast iron IR that just keeps on pumping.

What's the problem? It should be all put together. Use straight 30 wt non detergent oil. You can get it at about any auto parts store or even walmart. It's dirt cheap like $.89 court. Just get 2 so you have extra. You want to get an inline water tramp for that thing too. I used the husky one right off regulator. Then from the filter directly to a female hose end so you can disconnect the hose right there.
