im in a dilemma... flywheel bolt rounded
#21
I had to drill one of my torque converter bolts on my stock converter. I needed a snake drill to get to it. The way an internal extractor works is you first drill a hole and then screw the left hand thread extractor into the hole you drilled. As mentioned if you break it you can't drill that out.

You don't have an angle grinder??? If you don't they are farely cheap. you can get one for 35.00. Just be carefull doing it that route. If you have never really ground anything before, you might vear off the bolt and hit your clutch plate.. And that would not be good..

wellllll.... first off let me say, having someone hold onto the crank bolt instead of trying to use a pry bar on the teeth of the flywheel (to hold it stable) is 100 times easier!!!!!!!!
I hammered the SHHIIIIT out of the extrator socket on the bolt and put the torque wrench to 100 ft lbs and it finally got loose! I was thinking i was going to break the bolt, but thankfully it came out!!
I just got the flywheel back from the machine shop, quick 1 hour deal from this place called J and J autos right off of 145th, i could have walked there if i wanted to. Cost me 50$ but it looks good to me.. i'll snap some pics once i get back from the parents house! Thanks for all your help guys, with out you people i would probably....croak

I've always heard not to use a torque wrench for loosing bolts.
For starters, 1/2" drive are your friends to get things loose.

Use something like that on the bolt, while a friend, or your other arm holds onto the bolt on the front of the crank. (Its tightened to 240 foot pounds, you should easily be able to break those bolts loose)
Learning experience for sure. Keep asking question on your other thread and people will try to walk you through it for sure.
