Default I think I got screwed need advice

Ok i bought a ls2 timing chain and ls6 ported oil pump from somebody on the classifieds here. I go to look at it and clean it up because it came covered in cat hair, And I compare my chain and the new one and they are the same size. I look at the oild pump and they look the same with the same stampend numbers on them(12556436) but the one i bought has a number engreved on the back (1221276062). I need to know i am correct before i start pointing a finger.
Thanks guys Brandon

Well if you bought a LS6 ported oil pump, it's just that, a stock ported oil pump. It's not an aftermarket piece so it will have the stock factory part number on it. Look at the pump entry points and see if they look like it has a factory cast finish, or if it looks like it's been sanded/ported. You should be able to tell right away if it's in fact ported or just a stock pump.

As for the chain, it's hard to say.

Mike
