Whats going on man, i did't get the chance to make it down this past summer, but i'd like to try and do it this coming summer 2010, i'm up here in Columbus, Ohio and there's a few groups of LSX guys up here, have to see if they would want to make the 11 hr. drive down...I believe i still have you number

Im down with the cruise in and car show but if im able to make it down I dont think ill be joining in on a 50+ mile cruise after driving 400+ miles to get there. Would be interested in some autocross or a shorter rally.

I was down there last year for vacation in north myrtle beach when the Mustang week was going on...planning on going back down there again around that same time.

not too sure about the cruise. this time of year traffic is pretty bad down there, and it wouldnt be much of a cruise lol....just a lot of stop and go. plus most people are driving at least a few hours to the show....idk if anyone wants to really drive more once they get there.

For some of you that didn't make last year to the Car Show....we had 10 Special Feature Awards. Example....we had one guy that had the left quarter panel smashed in....so we gave a "NASCAR Trading Paint" award. We gave the traditional awards like Best of Show etc. etc......but the Special Feature awards gave the guys with non show cars a chance to win something.

We gave another one for Best Forced Induction.......just tried to make it fun.
Another older guy had a 67 vette and he displayed American Flags on it....so we awarded him a Patriot Award.

We plan to do some unique awards again this year.

Also....depending on the number of cars.....I was thinking of at least 3 classes:
STOCK
MODIFIED -upto 5 upgrades
SUPER MODIFIED- more than 5 upgrades

Just throwing out some ideas!!!!

yea terry...i think people like the special feature awards. and also last year, when terry and i judged the cars.....we wrote EVERYTHING down, even wrote down comments for each car. after the show, we let the owners have the judging sheets so they could see where their cars could show improvement. this is the ONLY show ive ever participated in that has done this for the owners.....other shows have pussies for judges that are too scared to confront the owners about how the cars were judged. hey....we're real, we know how to judge the right way....and we're not afraid to tell you if your car needs improvement or not! i think most people can appreciated that...

you can expect the following for sure...

best paint, best engine bay, best interior, best power adder, etc.....but other awards we will leave up in the air, and give them out to cars that have unique things that we like, that really set them apart from the crowd!

did anyone actually save their sheets from last year, and improve on the areas that scored low?

I had contacted the previous guy who ran it to see if I could get it transferred but I didn't get anywhere with that, so I went ahead and registered fbodybeachweekend.com to use. I'll start working on a site and see if I can have something basic up soon, and then we can add to it as we get this year's events planned. Feel free to discuss ideas or pm me with anything you'd like to see. I think it would be good to have some basic info on what the show is about, various hotels/attractions in MB and general info/pics about past shows. Also we might want to setup an official forum for the show like we had before.

It looks like the other domain expires in march, I doubt it will be renewed so I can get that at that time and redirect it.

why dont we just create a myspace and facebook account for it they are simple to setup and i know a ton of people use facebook and the accounts are free? i can help out if ya want. lmk

Last year we gave out 23 awards and we only had 45 or so cars enter the show....so 50% of the cars won something. I would hope we can give 30-40 awards for ever 100 entries.....we'll see. I was thinking of a $20 entry fee so we could get nice awards.

Yeah i still have the same number, if Dad doesn't have a NHRA points race or National event one of those weekends i really want to try and make it down.

-I know it's an 11 Hr. trip for me to make it down, a short cruise may be ok if we had a destination and was going to be there for a little while.

That's a good idea too but I still think having an official website is good because that gives you maximum flexibility, you can add stuff like a registration form, a forum, etc.

infinite......once we get this site up and running, i think it would be ncie to possibly have a chatroom feature on it. this way we can all get on there and share ideas at once. cyberspace meeting FTW. thanks everyone for showing a genuine interest in this.....this was the big question mark when terry, tim, and i decided to try to give this a GO, whether or not we would receive aid. it looks like we wont be short on help at all, and we appreciate it!
