A good color change paint job should run anywhere between $6000-$8000 it seems.

The other posters are pretty close. If you use good materials you will have close to $1200 in material. It depends on how detailed you want the color change. To do it right you need to disassemble everything. Thats where the rest of the money comes in. Lots and lots of labor.

then find a color that would work with black jams/engine compartment... for example, back in the day I had a 5.0 that was factory Navy Blue - I painted it Porsche Iris Blue which is essentially Navy with a hint of purple... so no need to touch the jams.

otherwise, just find a SOM car

you could probably save a good amount by sanding everything yourself. talk to a shop first.

i'd do the c6 burnt orange.

I'm doing the same color change right now. I have the panels off (4 hrs work for me) and the painter (friend) does excellent work. He said it will be about 50 hrs and the body is very good, one small ding repair. $2000 and I provide materials sounded pretty good.

i would shoot everything and leave the engine bay black. black engine bays always look awesome. looking probabally around 6-8k for a reall nice job.

I would definitely paint the jambs too but leave the engine bay black. When I get my car repainted I will without a doubt go that route.

i agree 7-8k for quality, it the cost of labor and material, what we do isnt easy, and you pay for quality, cant stress that enough and why leave the jambs and engine compartment black??

if your doing a color change paint everything, leaving it black to me your half assing a paint job i dunno what the cool abbreviation means but it would look like ****
that my professional opinion

a lot of people leave the engine bays black. its kind of like on a lot of the old cars that have it but it looks good on some of the newer cars. i think leaving the jambs and all that black is pretty half assed though. just save up the money for a nice paint job so that your not regretting anythig later.
