kandy colors are transparent, its like looking at a cup of kool-aid. All they do is tone the colors down and give it depth.

I have all my colors in cups, when its time to swap colors, i pour the remaining paint in the airbrush cup back into the right paint cup, whipe the airbrush cup clean with a clean towel, and pour a little laquer thinner into the airbrush cup. Then put a paper towel in front of the nozzle like if you are suffocating it and press the trigger back it will cause bubbles in the cup and clean the nozzle of your airbrush. Throw out the laquer thinner pour the next color and go to town.

Yeah just pm me and i'll help you out. For the kandy steps it would be better if you got a touch up gun. The air brush is too small to cover big areas like on cars. Of course another iwata would be best, Iwata lph-50. You will also need a good air compressor and a good clear gun for a painting and clearing yourself. For clear lph-100, its good for bikes and cars.

Thanks, Pheonix..

For a car i would rather have a nice gun, but you can get away with a cheaper sharp gun or something with a 1.3 or 1.4mm nozzle. A good gun will always spray better and last longer. Yeah the Iwatas are semi expensive, but well worth the money.

okay. ill try to find one thats kinda cheaper. why dont you use the airbrush to spray the kandy colors & clear coat? just because it doesnt spray a big enough amount?

The airbrush is for small things, u will see when u start airbrushing. It can spray clear but for like a 5 by 5" area anything bigger and you will need real paint guns.

Also if u want to spray clear u will have to reduce it some to cut down on the viscosity

oh okay. i watched a tutorial video of Ed Hubbs doing true fire and that was the paint that he used. he said he preffered them because they came premixed and just poured it in.

I have never used anything premixed, but give it a shot if its not too expensive. Stay away from water based paints. You will not like those.
