Not sure but my driver's side door has a similar problem, that when I open it, it drops about a quarter inch and it makes it a pain to close. I have to slam it pretty good. I was told it was the hinge pin but I haven't had a chance to hit up the dealership. I know Autozone doesn't carry them.

From what my local chevy dealer said is "They CANT get them". How do you argue with that. If you can get it from you dealer get me the part number. Thanks

You can't get what hinge pins? Because i don't think the hinge pins are actually serviceable.

What exactally is it the dealership says they can't get?

*EDIT* I called the parts department at work (a GM dealer), GM does NOT offer a hinge pin kit. You have to replace the hinges. Here are the part numbers as follows (drivers side only)....

- Upper hinge: part# 11630875 - $31.68
- The system says that a "plate kit" is necc. to install the hinges (I'm assuming it's a plate for the bolts)...... Part #10268961 - $9.23.
- Lower hinge: 16631043 - $92.95
- Spring: 20300149 - $9.04

why even bother? Do you know how simple it is to take our doors off? I messed with my doors for the past few months and ill tell you, im amazed our doors even stay on. Its just two little c-brackets with a hinge in the middle. Search recylclers please before you pay that ridiculous money for them! They look like they could make a profit if they sold the entire assembly for $5. There are so many recyclers with lower mileage cars. And the pins never actually go bad (so a few different body shops have told me). What happens is due to the weight of our door, our doors sag no matter what you do. If you dont correct the sagging in time, you end up damagind the pin by forcing it into place so many times. Like you said above, your door drops and then you slam it. You never thought of maybe taking it to a body shop? They adjust the door in about 15 minutes, it costs 50 bucks and your good for another 2 years. Shuts better than factory. But now that its got to the point you have to fix them, id recomend replacing the bushings first. Usually fixes them. BUT if you want to replace the hinge, i recommend going the recyclers' route.

Mine has the flat spot but I have no problem shutting the door and it doesn't even sag. It just makes a loud *** noise when opening. Here is the pic.

Like I said before nothing on the hinges are serviceable. Either go to a junk yard and get some or go to the dealership and get new ones.

OP i have the same flat spot as you do and have not got around to fixing it. However, i coat that wheel where the flat spot is with white lithium grease spray in there every few months and it stops. Not a permanent fix but it works!
