I want to remove the front grill on my camaro. I want to know the best way to fill the wholes from the grill. What is the best thing to use. I have done somebody work before, but on older cars.

Depending on the color of your car I wouldn't bother filling them. If it's a darker color they will be harder to see.

 

i finally removed mine... pull hard. my holes don't look good in pewter

 

The car is white. I like the look with the grill gone, but don't like to see the wholes.

 

I removed the black plastic piece from my red car. I can imagine that the holes are not too noticeable on a dark colored car, but in my opinion on red and other bright colors it is really obvious. I had the holes filled by a pro bumper reconditioning shop on my car.

I want to try to save little money that y I wanted to do it myself, but I might have to go that route.

In my case the bumper was cracked from a [CENSORED] tow truck backing into me (and no, he wasnt even going to tow me, just reversed without looking) and the insurance paid for fixing the crack and painting the bumper anyway and I had the filling of the holes done while they were at it.

I have a couple more pictures in my garage.

 

Do anyone have a idea how much it cost to fill the wholes and repaint the bumber.

 

I paid 250 for fixing the crack and having the holes filled in and 400 for repainting the bumper. This is Silicon Valley though, so I think it's probably cheaper elsewhere.

 

You can use a two part epoxy to fill it in. I wouldn't use body filler on plastic, mainly for lack of flexibility purposes. Shouldn't be that hard to fill in the holes either.

 

I have some 2 part epoxy that says it works on plastic and other thing. Does that work pretty good. Also how long will it last.

 

I used fiberglass filler... Worked great.

 

Did you use fiberglss filler that you but from auto parts store, also did you use filler or filler and fiberglass.

 

I used Kitty hair, which is a long stranded fiberglass filler, and finish off with the glaze putty. Make sure you sand the spot good before you use the fiberglass. Even inside the hole...

Does anyone know where to buy a stock grill? Ive been given 2 weeks to put on a front plate or i will be given ticket after ticket. Local cops = DICKS.

 

cant you just have the plate in the front windshield?

and how do you get the grille out? just give it a good yank?!

and what about using bondo to fill the holes and then spray painting the inside of the grille flat black to cover it up?!

 

Idaho law requires the plate on the front bumper in plane site. Just give it a good yank, but you will break the tabs that hold the grill in place. You can take off your front bumper and remove them from the back just in case you need the grill for future use.
